    Graphics Card/Power Supply Question

I'm interested in getting a GeForce GTX 280. It says it needs 575W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 42A or more....my computer is this one:

Any idea if that card would be ok for that computer, power supply-wise I mean? My computer has a 700W power supply but I'm not sure what that other stuff means (PCI Express-compliant, 12V current of 42A or more, etc.)

Also, I've heard the GTX 280 is huge....any example of how big it is....any idea if it's any bigger than a GeForce 8800 GTS for example?

    Thanks for the info.

Seeing as your PSU doesn't list any power ratings, you can either open your case and try to read the label, or do what you'll end up doing and buy a new PSU, because I'm 99.99% certain you'll need one.

Something like this should be decent: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

If you want to drop an extra $30, I have their modular 620w, would be fine for you and is really, really easy to work with.

What would be the reasons for needing a new power supply in this case? The power ratings specifically or the lack of the 6/8 pin connectors for the GTX 280? Because the GTX 280 comes with connection adapters, that's why I'm asking. 9:02 of this video says what adapters it comes with....molex to 6 pin and two six pin to one 8 pin:
