The woman isn't a single mother though, she's actually married but her husband is in the army or something and is getting deployed back to Iraq soon. Also the mom is in her late twenties...with 14 kids. She'll probably get a lot of help from all of the press that she'll get from having these babies though, and hopefully be able to give her kids an okay life.

According to multiple news sources she is single where did you hear about her being married?

Yeah, it's hard to tell what the context is.

No matter how you slice it, it's wildly irresponsible to be in-vitro implanting that many embryos into a woman, and considering she has 6 kids (aged 2-7) as it is...it's insane. You are guaranteeing very premature births that way, as this demonstrates, and it's dangerous for both the babies and the mother. She claims she only wanted one more child, but once they discovered 7 had taken hold (they thought it was 7, turned out to be 8) they gave her the option to remove some and she declined.

Now that the babies appear to be healthy who knows what crackpot bitches will start coming out of the woodwork and demand this many embryos be implanted.

I was reading another article on CNN about how ethical it is to implant 8 embryos and they said it may or may not have been 8, because embryos tend to split. But even so, that would require at least 4 and in a healthy woman you need no more than 2.

This story keeps getting more bizarre by the day....

The mother of the newborns has hired an agent and is apparently in talks with Oprah and Diane Sawyer (Good Morning America) for interviews. She will do them for free but she wants to get exposure and will be asking for 2 Million dollars for any interview after Oprah and GMA. By the way, did I mention she supposedly has a Bachelors Degree in Child Development from Cal State Fullerton?

Had to bump because this story is getting funnier by the week.
Right now people from the Inland Empire have dubbed her OctoMom.
She wanted to create her own website to ask for donations, but someone beat her to it and made a website with her name that basically points out a lot of negative things about her.
