    The Buried God: Beadeaux SCNM

Hi! My social LS is planning on trying The Buried God SCNM sometime soon, and I have been unable to find any solid info aside from failwiki, which only gives one strategy for the fight. We typically have ~12 people available, but with only one solid PLD (who also happens to be one of our best DDs if he's allowed to come on DRG ;_; ).

Anyway, we just did the La Vaule SCNM relatively easily, though we were a bit light on healing. Can anybody give any decent low-numbers strategies for this fight, and maybe use the LaVaule fight as a reference since the setups seem to be pretty similar?

Here are a few things I've been thinking about for the fight, and would appreciate input on:

    - Do the BLM adds stand at range and spam spells like most other BLM AI in the game? Assuming they do, would a RDM/NIN or RDM/DRK with magic resist gear be able to hold both BLMs? In LaVaule SCNM I was able to hold both RNG adds with NIN/RDM and virtually no support outside of refresh, which freed up a lot of extra bodies for the NM. If we can get one person holding two mobs again without support it should help us a ton. I don't think we have the healing capability to keep a PLD up after killing all 4 adds, since apparently the NM gets stronger for each add killed.

    - What kind of damage does Torment of Gu'Dha do? In LaVaule, the NM's massive AoE was the only real danger in the fight. If it's about the same, we'll probably need to find some extra healing.

    - Wiki recommends a turtle-tank PLD superkiting all 5 mobs while an /assist picks off the adds. Is there a better way to do this (maybe PLD/NIN holding the NM while RDM holds both BLMs, and melees just zerg down the whms?)? From what I've read, kiting the NM seems the best way because of his TP attacks, but if it's possible to straight tank I'd much rather do that.

The basic strategy I'm thinking of trying, assuming it'd be plausible, would be to have a PLD NIN BRD RDM WHM WHM tank party, a party of 4 DD/NIN with ranged capabilities and RDM + WHM, and maybe 2 BLMs in a 3rd party (that's about all the people we can muster up). The PLD would get initial aggro on all mobs and kite them. Melee party's RDM is our /nin or /drk rdm with magic resist, who will grab the 2 BLMs and bring them to a corner to hold. NIN grabs the WHM mobs off of the PLD, melees zerg them down (if they're as weak as the lavaule ones they should drop within a minute). After this, PLD treats it like kirin kiting - kite until it uses a TP move, avoid it by being out of range, then build hate while it's stopped. DDs and BLMs nuke it down until the aura vanishes, then PLD pops 2hr, and melees zerg the boss down in 3 or 4 minutes. Then just mop up the BLMs for the win. That's what we did in Lavaule and it worked pretty well.

Any input, experience, or tips are more than welcome. It seems impossible to find good info about these fights and competition for the strongbox NMs is starting to get high, so we don't really want to risk a pop on trial and error. Thanks in advance!

Just got my stone mufflers today, was 1/6 on the bc <<'

Anyway, its actually really easy. The strat I use is to have around 12 people, 1 pld a few healers, 3 blm and the rest DD. I (rdm/blu) ran in and aggrod all 5. The pld flashes the main mob and starts kiting. If he runs around the back pillars he will never get hit so this is really easy to do.

Then its just like you said in your post, the melee pick off the mobs 1 at a time. I usually have them start with the blms then move to the whms. A thing to note though is that it seems like SE forgot to give these BLM any elemental skill....I always full resisted any spell I got cast on me in every one of the 6 runs i did.

Once all the adds are dead, have everyone move back to the tunnel and rest up. Blms go out and nuke him until his shield drops - you don't want to get hit with his Wrath move, it does a lot of damage and stones anyone it hits. As soon as the shield drops you have 4 minutes to do as much damage as possible before it goes back up. Make sure to tell your people not to stand in front of its mouth otherwise they'll get hit by the cone ore lob and shell charge which can 1shot people.

If he doesnt die in the 4 minutes, as soon as the shield goes up just have melee move back in to the tunnel and repeat with the blms until it's dead. Its a really simple BC and 4 of the times I won it was just with shout people from whitegate.

hia AOE move rally isnt something to underestimate. Like the above poster said it can fuck you up REALLY fast. kill the blm adds first then the whm.

Thanks for the input, I'm looking forward to trying this. Were you kiting or supertanking all the babies on rdm/blu? Other than that it looks about what I imagined... pretty basic fight, just need to survive the annoying AoE spam.

Have your PLD kite the boss and 2 whms while you pick off the 2 blms. You don't need to stall them, just have your melees knock down one then the other. Then pull off the 2 whms. The whms take slightly longer to kill only because of Bene. We never tried the blm trick to drop the shield, we just used melees, not a huge deal, but the AOE does hurt.

You should not need to use a PLD 2hour. The point though is you do have to do damage fairly fast and no one singular person can straight tank him because of the speed at which he attacks and how hard he hits, he must be bounced between melees. Rangers are very nice. All melees should sub Ninja.
