While I love the demo for this (and I do, I keep playing it just to see how much of an asshole I can make Batman, which I think will be about 90% of the fun in the game), a 9.5 on ANY Eidos game is, unfortunately, suspect given previous acusations of tampering, as with Jeff Gerstmann's firing over a poor review of Kane and Lynch, and Eidos attempts to block ratings lower than an 8 on Tomb Raider Underworld.

I know, Eidos is now part of Square. But, really, does anyone expect Eidos's PR to get BETTER after being bought by Square? I'll still be getting this game (it really is fun to toy around with the bad guys), but this score does nothing for me.

I agree with you on the score thing, in the same issue GI gave Dissidia a 6.5 and just reamed it. What sold me was them stating it was this years Bioshock, that is a pretty ballsy thing to through out there if this game is mediocre at best.

i wasn't really paying much attention to this game until i realized the demo was out, and after playing through it i might actually get this game. i'm so used to licensed games being garbage, i'm pretty surprised with this one. hoping there's some good replayability whether it's unlockables or trophies/achievements or whatever.

I'm not a batman fan whatsoever but I've been playing through this and I have to say its a pretty amazing game so far. All the bosses are unique and fun to fight and the story is really well done. The voice acting is great. It definitely deserves the 9.5

Now I'm excited for the game since it's getting good reviews... I wasn't expecting it to be that good, I'll be honest. Looked really pretty and the voice-cast is perfect, but kinda expected it to fail in the mechanics dept

Ive been playing it for a day or so and I've gotta say it pretty damn fun. Good pacing and it looks great. Im really happy one of the games i was excited about actually turned out to be as good as i hoped.

This is the first time I've played a demo that actually made me want to buy a game I had no intention of buying prior to. Once Batman and Joker started talking in the demo I was sold.
