Ok, before I start, I'd like to say that I am terrible when it comes to this tech stuff, and literally know nearly nothing about computers outside of how to browse the net and play games.
I'm running a Laptop with Vista 32 bit, Nvidia graphics card (honestly, I'm so bad with computers I cannot even seem to find where to check the actual full card name)
I also Use Mog Toolz to open windower, just thought I would say this incase it could effect it in any way.
In Wajoam and Bhaflau zones in ffxi I get "Playonline Viewer has stopped working" over the course of a merit party, or whatever I am doing it seems to get more frequent with each crash. I said something about this in Standard discussion about a week ago, and a guy told me to try a file check. I did this, and it seemed to help for a while (7 corrupted files) but after a couple hours, I started getting crashed again. Tonight, I went for another merit party, same shit happened, only this time when I ran a file check it came up with 5 corrupted files (same as the ones before, just 5 instead of 7), an hour later, crashes came again, exact same corrupted files. In each time the corrupted files came up, I ran a "File repair" through playonline.
Those 5 files are:
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\27\126.DAT
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\28\100.DAT
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\28\97.DAT
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\28\99.DAT
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\29\118.DAT
Curious if anyone has a possible solution for this. I get an odd crash other than in these zones, but its not to the point of getting kicked every 10 mins, or less. Its a huge pain in the ass, because they include most of the exp spots for 54ish-merits, and I'd like to be able to merit again without the frustration of the constant crashes.
Thank you for your time and help, would really appreciate if anyone has a solution to this.
Edit:
Ok, well, after running a file check a second time without even logging back in it came up with the same 5 files, so I'm guessing the file fix isn't working properly... If anyone could take a guess as to how to fix them, it would be great. It may not even be those corrupted files, it could be something completely different.
