I think I'll have to go with:
-Sonic 3 & Knuckles

I think I'll have to go with:
-Sonic 3 & Knuckles
-Final Fantasy IX
-Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
(in release order)
1. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Tie between NHL 94/NHL 09

5. Half life 2
6. Final Fantasy Tactics
7. TMNT: Turtles in Time & TMNT2
8. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
9. Counter-strike

I've seen Lost Odyssey on a couple of lists. I've had the game since release, but I can't seem to get more than 2-3 hours into it. Does it really get better?
For me LO didn't have anything exceptional in it except the "dream" stories, those were great, but not good enough to make it my fav game ;( oh, and jansen was awesome too
LO isn't without some flaws but for this generation of games it is imo the best RPG that has been put out,(I have played and beat most of them tales/mass effect/IU/Last Remnant/etc) people who like the more standard jrpg seem to agree with this. The combat system nor the story are groundbreaking but as a whole it is a really good game. Graphics are great, story is really good for what it is and most of the characters are really enjoyable.I would have to agree the dream's are one of the best parts of the game. Also anyone who was a fan of FFX can immediately see this as the current gen incarnation and I am sure the nostalgia and shades of FFX help it's popularity.
diablo 2
counterstrike
sf 3rd strike
mario rpg
time crisis
Really? I loved FFX from the start, but LO is just boring as shit from the first 2-3 hours. I'll give it a shot once I am done with Last Remnant.
Shadow of the Colossus
Persona 3
NHL 09
Left 4 Dead
Halo 2 multiplayer
Final Fantasy IX
Diablo 2
Starcraft
Battle Clash
No particular order.
Also, an arcade game I used to play all the time, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. All I know is that it was a mecha-type game where you sat down in a cockpit thing that moved with you, had two joysticks for movement. All I can remember is there were open battlefields and you only fought one enemy at a time. I wish I could remember the name of this game, but I can't. That was probably the funnest game at an arcade I've ever played.
Updating my list:
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Xenogears
FF 7
Halo 3
MGS 4
Mario Bros. 3
FFXI (So much is wrong with it, but it got unimaginable playtime)
Diablo 2
Everquest
Goldeneye
TMNT 2 Arcade (I put more quarters into this than anything....)
Mortal Kombat 2 (When this came out, there was LINES like an amusement park at the arcade, and the first game I ever went to get at 12 Midnight, and I was in 5th or 6th grade; it took a lot of begging to get that ride to the mall lol)
Dynasty Warriors 3
The one Koei got right. The series is my favorite of all time, and this one was the most fun.
You just know a game is gonna be awesome when the first comment people make about the game is about how awesome the graphics are.
<rolleyes>
Tecmo Super Bowl
FFXI (I don't know why this game is so captivating, it just is)
Football Manager 07
After those three, everything else is pretty minor.
I play Tecmo Super Bowl online... the community is surprisingly large.
I'm in a Tecmo Super Bowl tournament in Madison WI in March - there's 64+ participants and a decent sized cash prize. I finished in the final 8 last year (lost to the guy who won the previous year) and I'm hoping to do better this year. My friend is also extremely good and won the tournament three years ago.
Legend of the Dragoon
Lost Odyssey
Eversion
FFXI
FFIX
Diddey Kong Racing
Jade Empire
>.>
No FPS has -ever- impressed me.
Tom Clancy Rainbow Six series
Final Fantasy 1-6,10, and 12.
Devil May cry series(2 was shit but it still counts as one)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs Zeon
Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs Zeta Gundam
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam(Yes I liked it, yes I will buy numba 2)
Crysis
Crysis Warhead
Battlefield 2
Serious Sam: The first Encounter
Serious Sam: The second Encounter
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2004
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Diablo
Diablo II
Diablo II Lord of Destruction
Call of Duty series
F.E.A.R.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2(360)
Resistance 2
Mechwarrior 3
Bolded those 2 encase people forgot about the 2 originals. Forgot to add more JRPGS or rpgs in general but I have a long list to go through for those.
Harvest Moon (PS1)
Shadow of the Colossus
Morrowind
Oblivion
KOTOR 1
Castlevania (All of the sidescrollers, this is really my favorite series of games ever)
Armored Core (All of them again, second favorite series)
Fallout 1, 2 and 3. (Give 3 all the shit you want, it was still fun [Until the end of the main story])
FF9 (I teared up at the ending)
Guilty gear something or other, for PS2. It's the only fighter I've really put myself into.
There was a lot of different situations that just almost mirrored FFX the further you get in to it, games story really picks up towards the end of the first disc. Like I said obviously not groundbreaking or the best rpg ever made but it's really good.
Your comment would be valid if that is all that was said about the game, graphics do not make or break a game for me but the do reflect the whole overall experience, Like LO or not graphics are one of many components that make up whether a game is good or bad, If a game looks great but is unbearably to control, glitched all to hell, and has no depth or immersion then the game is going to suck regardless how shiny it is, IMO that isn't the case for LO and I cited other supporting reasons for liking the game. If you base a game purchase decision solely on how it looks that is retarded but your full of shit if you say it doesn't play a part in your decision making process or at least add to the appeal.
to add to my original list and round off my top 20, in no particular order:
Xenosaga 1 & 3
Xenogears
Kingdom Hearts (series)
DMC (Original)
Ninja Gaiden
SW KOTOR
FFVII
WWF No Mercy & Wrestlemania 2k (Best wrestling engine ever used)
Shadow Hearts
L4D
Never understood why people like 3 more than 4. 4 is like the evolved version of 3, without the crappy "let me try to match this patch of grass here". I loved them all but I'd probably say:
MGS4
MGS1
MGS3
MGS2 (If Raiden was more like 4, in 2, this list might be shifted =P)
As for favorite games, too many to list or choose less than 30.
Metal Gear Sold
Devil May Cry 1
Uncharted
Fahrenheit (Indigo prophecy)
Residant Evil (1-3)
Fatal Frame (series)
Dynasty Warriors 3
Patapon
Final Fatasy VII/IX/X
Lost Odyssey
Tales of Destiny/The Abyss/Vasperia
Shadow Hearts 1&2
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (3)
Kingdom Hearts
Xenogears
Xenosaga
Tekken (series)
Soul Edge/Caliber (series)
Dead or Alive (Series)
Street Fighter (Loved the Capcom Vs SNK and other spin offs too)
And the list goes on and on. Also, fuck FPS.
