Non-Nyzul Assaults forgotten?

Maybe I just have bad timing, but on Asura, whenever I'm in Whitegate it's almost always a chorus of Nyzul Isle. It seems almost rare for anyone to be shouting for any of the other 50 assaults, much less a rank up party.

Are people only interested in Nyzul gear/weaponskills, and/or they only do other assaults with Salvage groups? I've climbed all the way to floor 100 and gotten the weaponskills for my current 75 jobs and a Saio, and frankly I'm getting sick of Nyzul Isle.

The assaults mostly suck, either because:

1. Not enough AP per win
2. Too Hard
3. Everyone is PSC or FL/Captain
4. Nyzul anyone can do and there's a slight chance in some nice gear

And if people want weaponskills, they're likely on 100 already, and dedicate the other tags on Red vs Blue to do Salvage.

That illustrates the other problem I have as Sergeant; most people in my LS are not likely past PSC (much less LC, where some of my favorite assaults are), and I'm still not qualified for the higher assaults like Red vs. Blue.

I remember when I was at low rank, I'd see shouts for high end assaults and wistfully wished I had a higher mercenary rank. Now I'm at Sergeant and no one cares about them anymore.

If you wish to raise your rank, as boring as it is, just spam the ones people do at low ranks for points:

I've seen many shouts for 2 leeches to join. Overtime you'll get rank ups, although slowly. And join random unique assaults you might not have done before to speed it up.

Also, each Nyzul win = 1 rank point (except the first win). So if you do random nyzuls you'll rank up eventually, just slowly.

I've taken to two boxing + leech to get my mule rank ups.... major pain in the ass. I take too many breaks from the game and end up way behind =/

Basically the same thing on Unicorn too, gonna make me sad when I'm done with Nyzul and it comes time to rank up in Assault for my Perdu Voulge. ;; Thankfully I'm already Corporal and I've only done like four actual assaults. XD

Some assaults do suck but most of them are very fun. On my server there are still a good bit of regular assault shouts.

People shout for Nyzul assaults because Askar/Goliard is quite popular and new WS's require you to have a 100 disc(at least for a reasonable number of WS points). You can always try to form your own group for easier assaults and ask linkshell help for annoying/diffcult ones.

Well, what you could do is the way i snatch points from time to time: take 2 of your ls mates and do low assaults they never won. That helps them rank up, and still give you some AP. Sure it's not 1600+ for all, but i rather get 1K AP than sit on my tags (some are really low tho, like 600 AP, so if you really struggle for points just look on internet before and take the best of both worlds). And in some times, those same members will be avaliable for higher rank assaults.

Honestly I don't feel much sympathy for the QQing in this thread. I've slowly ranked up to First Lieutenant over 2 years, and 99% of my clears were from my own shouts, often shouting for over an hour. In my experience you just need to suck it up and shout if you want it done (like a lot of things).

There was no golden age for assault, or at least it's been gone a while.

My advice if you're serious about ranking up is try to have friends along for assaults, not so much for the assault itself but to tagteam shouting. :D

We have someone in our Nyzul Static in a similar situation. She has never actually done a real assault, and is either Corporal, or the rank above it.

Doing Nyzul and ranking up in assaults can be one and the same thing, if you do it enough each week and make sure to rankup when your 25 points are up. >_>

Organize it yourself...either shout, or get friends to help.

-Most- the assaults are easy, and can be done no problem with 3-4 people (then again, in shout groups, you may get stuck with 3 people that together do the damage of 1 intelligent DD). A very select few are harder than that.

The problem is the demand on people's tags. You can only do so many assaults per week. Mosts people are strapped between keeping points for salvage runs, and working towards goals in nyzul. They don't have extra tags to throw around getting clears or doing assaults outside of the zone they need points for remants permits in.

as many others have noted... you could just shout for assaults if you miss them so much... you might be sick of nyzul, doesn't mean everyone else is.

No reason why people shouting should HAVE to shout for what you want...

I disagree at "no golden age for assault" or at least I had it lucky

I was in same LS as Kaylia for quite some time and I guess he was just stacking any and all points so as not to waste tags by helping with anyone in LS doing assaults (either that or to find a few people close enough to FL to make it worthwhile, given that at the time there weren't too many FL's to do RvB with)

that being said to this day I still do not have Lebros Supplies done, nor a few of the more annoying SL's and FL's needed to complete Captain

Meh most people who would do the assaults have probably done them or are bored rigid with them. Nyzul is just more interesting right now for most people because of the weapons/skills/keys.

We're almost done with Nyzul and I hope to go finish off the few last assaults I need for Captain but once that's done I won't touch them unless I need a new specific piece of gear or we move into Salvage. I did a lot when they came out and got kinda tired dragging people through them.

What's sad is that you can't even get PSC assaults like "Imperial Agent Rescue" out of the way because of this.....
