Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are excited to announce the initial lineup for the 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The eighth annual four-day camping and music festival will be held on June 11 - 14 on the same beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville. Every year Bonnaroo seeks to make history by offering unique and exclusive performances by rock’s greatest legends as well as its most significant newcomers. A full list of confirmed acts follows, and more will be announced in the coming weeks. The final Bonnaroo 2009 lineup will total over 120 bands and over 20 comedians performing on 13 stages over four days. Tickets go on sale exclusively through 2009 Bonnaroo Artists on Saturday, February 7 at 12:00 PM Eastern.

I was going just to haggle a good price on a didje but when I saw the line up I came.

I went to Bonnaroo #2, #3, and last year's; I hope Widespread makes a late addition as they often do. I live in Nashville, TN; being able to come home to take a real shower is priceless. I remember the first time I went I thought that I had gotten a money tan...only to come home and shower and watch what I thought was a tan wash right off; never been so filthy in my life.

Vampire Weekend came last year and were definitely the best surprise for me, fantastic; would love to see them again. Girl Talk should be good as well. The headliners are always good, but I love stalking the smaller tents for new talent.

Seeing how this event is like 40 minutes from where I used to live and an hour from where I live now everyone in our town goes through this shit.

A word of advice I would plan on getting there early as hell unless you like riding in the car getting blazed and having to be paranoid about undercover cops pulling your ass over. Plus the traffic is just fucking retarded and pisses most of the people who live close to Manchester off, haha...

An easy way to get into the event is to volunteer or work for it. My cousin has done this multiple times.

I've never bought a ticket for $250/$300/full price, once you get within a mile of the farm there are typically 50+ people selling tickets on the side of the highway for substantially less.
