To answer the OP's question: there is nothing you can do personally to cause global warming by you alone by using electricity or the world in general using it. You heating the air around you will cause no change on a large scale due to warm air rises and cold takes its place, your just helping the process. Heat created by air parcels from human generated heat sources only rise a few meters if that much.

Supplemental argument: When Mt. Penetubo(sp?) erupted the world as a whole cooled ~2 deg for the year due to the ash in the upper atmosphere.

And your supplemental argument has nothing to do with AGW, that's aerosol cooling, a completely different process.

Greenhouse warming was proposed as a model in 1892 by Svente Arrhenius, unless you change the laws of thermodynamics and the fundamental properties of gases, you CAN PREDICT what changes will occur when a known quantity of gas is added to the atmosphere. These predictions have not only held true (to the original Arrhenius predictions) on Earth, but are very accurate in predicting temperatures on other planets. Seriously folks, the only "argument" is from geophysicists (not climate scientists) hired by oil companies. I love it how quantum dynamics is tossed around by people on this board and it's accepted, yet climate change and climate models are perched high on the cliff of impossible knowledge?

Noone is talking about doomsday theories (unless you're talking about pundits mischaracterizing people on fox news), so stop with the strawmen k?

Double lol at "you can't predict ice ages until after the fact" well not with high accuracy, but we can predict by variations in earth's orbit that a general cooling trend would have persisted for another 23000 years w/o AGW.
