    Ring question for Monk

Because i didnt want to derail the gimp player thread, i read something on there about Blitz ring for monk? Im not a monk but i do have access to a friends account with Monk leveled and i wanted to know what the best options are for rings. He has 8/8 H2H merits and faith torque if that helps.

If i remember right he dosnt have a Ulth ring

Is Rajas not a good choice for building TP? Currently i know he has a Blood ring for sure, but not sure about a second acc ring. Would Rajas be ok or would it be worth coughing out a bit to get a second ACC ring?

    Imo it's something like this:
    Mars>Divisor/Toreador's>Sniper's +1>Rajas/Ulthalum>Blood>Woodsman/NQ Sniper

acc rings are better assuming you have gear/merits to support Meat Set-up, otherwise you're using pizza or sushi so acc isn't as bit of issue so I'd stick to rajas if using one of those, also Iota better than NQ acc ring if you have odd dex before it.

    This.

How does usukane feet affect mnks ability to get to 100% in a set number of swings vs usu feet + rajas?

I'm going to throw out Mars's Ring because you're not going to get one any time soon.

I'm also going to throw out all +5 ACC rings, since they're trumped.

That leaves the best ACC ring as Toreador's, with Divisor being comparable and Ulth's offering more attack in exchange for ACC.

    Divisor + Ulth = Accuracy + 10 Attack + 7

    Divisor + Toreador = Accuracy + 13 Attack +3

    Ulth + Toreador = Accuracy + 11 Attack +4

    Toreador + Toreador = Accuracy +14

What do you feel would help your MNK the most?

Personally, I'd go with Divisor + Ulth... I'm almost (?) done with Usukane, so I'm pretty stacked on ACC already... Also, the 2-3M for selling my Toreador could be put to good use (Hermes Sandals, Wootz Ore, stupid HQ Chakra crap)

each will drop the normal 21 hits to 100 by 1 hit
    1 is 20 hit
    both is 19 hit

this does not account for the tp gain from a 8-hit ws so x hit builds on mnk are pretty lol because they are not consistant

5 ACC rings usually beat rajas and even ulthalam's.

    But as mentioned above:

I use Rajas because I presently consume sushi, as I -- unfortunately -- do not have any Usukane. For weapon skills, I throw on my Optical Hat, Life Belt, and Shura Haidate to increase my ACC.

The timeless old adage (which has already been cited in this thread), "shit is situational," definitely applies. You could break it down into a technical argument, but it's better for now to just summarize it like this:

ACC rings are basically always superior, but those rings which provide lower ACC are permissible if you're in a situation where you're eating ACC food (e.g., sushi).

Just don't wear STR rings or switch into STR gear for WS, please (unless you're swapping out something that doesn't contribute to WS, like Walahra Turban).

Very true. However, keep in mind that with for instance crab sushi on greater colibri you should still do the hitrate math and not simply equip whatever not-acc you see fit. My monk has 411 accuracy while eating that with an equipment set tweaked for the occasion; any less and my hitrate wouldn't be capped (I think 410 accuracy is 95%, anyway?).

And yeah I equip life belt and ohat too; mixing accuracy and attack for asuran seems to yield the best results. If you have 95% hitrate in your TP set, however, don't go over that ACC number in WS set, get more attack or even STR instead.

I don't disagree, but for those who don't want to do the math, the above is simpler. As it is, I have a fair amount of ACC to play with in my various pieces of equipment, always using Temple Crown for Focus, and so on -- not capped, nonetheless. Plus I also understand that 1 point of ACC is still very significant over time, and that DOT is what a MNK is all about, but...

That's getting into the technical, and I just wanted to provide a "rule of thumb" of sorts.

This is true, definitely. If your ACC is capped then there is no reason to add more.

I generally go with Rajas + Acc ring on war/drk/sam and that does well for me, I don't have mnk levelled yet but I'd imagine it wouldn't be much different. But then again, my Ebody makes up for the 5 acc where the rajas ring is, and on sam I use rajas for the stp, so it may actually be different for mnk.

The Acc needs for 1h vs 2h are very different.
