wutOne person, probably a Red Mage (almost certainly a PLD/RDM, probably)
Is this the same Starcade from Asura?
since when does logging out remove ALL enmity?
It doesn't until the people at the top of its enmity list die, then it tries to go after the people who logged off, but they're not there so they get deleted from the list.
Wait...this IS that guy who kept throwing tantrums during Besieged.
Goddammit Shue, not again.
>.> so.... he wants them banned? for something LSs have been doing for 6years with their whms and blms(or hell any dd that pulls hate)? lol i no my shell does this a lot b/c we still do not have the hang of a lot of things ; ; i do not think i should be banned for it lol
tho he has a point, a bullshit point but a point...
Ladies and gentleman... The Rush Limbaugh of FFXI!
If I create a blog and say retarded stuff, will I get a thread dedicated to me on BG about it?
Those are horrible examples. Want to know why? Because they are using in-game functions with all members present and accounted for to battle and overcome those obstacles. If you were to design a boss fight, would you incorporate spots where the actual tactic was to have everyone log out and reset the fight to avoid one of it's abilities? No. No you wouldn't. I'm not saying these people need any repercussions, but that we all know that PW was not designed to be fought in this manner.
Edit: And P.S You forgot about kiting Genbu.
Don't feed the trolls.
Well, technically SE did code it that way. Logging out only works if you move back to the top of the hate list, the mob checks for you, doesn't see you, you are removed from list.
It was proven a while back that if you log out and log back in before moving back to the top of the hate list, you are not removed from the hate list and still have your hate (well, the non-decaying hate.)
In this case of PW it only works because everyone is logging out, so it scans its entire hate list without finding anybody.
This aspect of technically not losing hate by logging is more than enough for me to justify that it isn't really a broken aspect, exploit, or cheat of game mechanics.
The only exploit that could be argued is TParty, but even then it really isn't that hard to judge the bar being at 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, etc.
I believe that was updated a long time ago. I vaguely remember doing Jailer of Love back in the day, when nobody knew how to kill it other than throwing pets at it. Our White Mages often had to log off to reset their enmity, but after a version update it stopped working.
So here's this guy... 40 years old, plays FFXI, cares *so* much about Besieged that he actually leaves the server he is on, even though he can barely scrape together the $25 transfer fee irl... leaves his server in a hissy fit. Over Besieged. Because they won't have the Astral Candescence, and the only worthwhile thing he can find to do is spam Besieged and experience parties?
It's that important to him that everybody else play the game the way he wants them to, he leaves all of his 'friends' that he ahs made behind, in a fit of rage, over Besieged.
Here's the kicker. One random guy posts a comment on his blog about how Besieged is in fact easy to win if people keep the generals alive. Not about him leaving... nobody posted about him leaving. No 'oh, we're so sorry to see you go, we'll miss you so much'... not even a 'good fucking riddance, you were always a douche'. Not one person gave a single shit in either direction that this guy was gone. How many years did he play on Asura, and he managed to not only have *zero* friends, but even the people who didn't like him didn't care enough to comment.
Let me remind you, this is the internet. People who don't like you always voice those opinions, and colourfully, at that. Just look at the asshat's blog.
All that said, why do I get the feeling that SE can't see the difference between average normal player and self-obsessed social retard with no healthy means of venting his emotions?
