Could not access share folder in network

I have this error message when I try to access the share folder in my pc using my laptop.

    \\Computer_name is not accessible.

no network provider accepted the given path.

I have try the sfc \scannow method but it doesn't work. Then, I found that I can ping my pc, but I could not able to search the pc at all.

Anyone know what other solution i can try when i get back home?

    so far i have tried
    1. ipconfig /release and /renew
    2. sfc \scannow
    3. restart over and over

Have you tried the direct path rather than just the root?

Also, is the service "Server" running? I had a similar error once when I went and turned Server off.

And what OS? And did it work before.

Check your firewall software to make sure the local network is being trusted (set a trusted IP range or trust the individual IPs of the computers you use), often it isn't by default and NetBIOS traffic is inherently blocked by software firewalls to prevent easy discovery of resources, which would cause the error you're seeing.

Firewalls on both computers have to be off/inherently trusting eachother. Check the other PC.

I never using any firewall for both of computer, so i had no idea whats wrong.

But after I back to home from school, the problem solves itself by mistery. Bet it might be the login info cache in my university's wireless connection crash with my router or something else...
