    Tight Fit?

Trying to replace my university computer's graphics card, but am unsure as to whether the replacement card, an Asus 9800GT Ultimate (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.) will fit into my Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe. (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.)

Anyone had any experience with this card/motherboard combination?

    Constructive replies are much appreciated.

It should be fine assuming you have nothing else in the PCI slots.

First immediate glance says it will without a problem, unless the lower most heatsink is higher then it looks which would be a terrible engineering fuck up on asus' part.

What is the slot immediately left to the blue? next to that is the pci-e x1 but, the blue one is larger? pci-e x2? Never seen it before..

I mean, I've seen this motherboard alot in people's computer specs, it seems to be pretty popular.

I have a DBTV card in the lowest PCI slot, but removing that isn't an issue, as I use a Monitor/HDTV combo.

Different PCI express slots, it looks like.

This screeny should give some visual perspective on heights and the like.

Still think it's doable? An Asus 9600GT fit in fine, but that wasn't a double slot card.

Thanks so far for all the input. :D

Looking at the angled picture, it looks like it would fit without a problem, The dip in the heatsink is specifically to allow longer cards.

Edit* and nothing should impede on it being a dual slot card or not, but you'll block that weird funky x4 pci-e slot (oh well lolz).

It will fit fine - goes right into one of your 16x slots. I would personally use the one closest to your Northbridge heatsink though, because if you use the other one the end of the card may run over your SATA connectors.

Also, in either slot you may run into some heat issues since both your 16x sockets run really close to the heatsink/tubing. Monitor your temps during load, and if things are too hot you might want to look into an extra 12cm intake fan for you case if you have space for it, or a expansion slot heat blower if you don't.
