I watched all the DBZ movies in Japanese, so I'm used to the strange voices, but despite that it still doesn't make the VA work any good...

Gohan's voice was absolutely terrible, he sounds better when he grows up.

Having grown up with the show in its original Japanese form, I'm totally used to the voices. If anything, the English voices felt odd to me. They were in the middle of the Frieza saga when I first saw it back in 1991. I liked how they added that recap of the events from the original Dragon Ball at the start of the episode. I also found it interesting they'd open with the "fight" between Goku's father and Frieza when he destroys Planet Vegeta. This is definitely a solid start, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the coming weeks.

Anyway, Dragonball Abridged was pretty funny, but jeez there's an abridged series for everything these days.

As for the censor, not a big deal but it is annoying. The tails weren't censored, I think it's just because of the widescreen?

Ah fair enough, but I felt the need to justify my slight grudge against the issue anyway, I mean... the sky is green, right, right? haha

Censoring issue, they skipped the part where Raditz chucks Gohan into the pod... and how Goku mentions to Piccolo about the weighted clothes... and a few other random bits such as Krillen feeling doomed (with the blue background to accompany it).

Regardless, it don't matter too much anyway. It was only the Saiyan saga where it was quite brutal. i.e. Tien's arm getting smacked off by Nappa, and ... (in the first dubs) "YOU JUST WAIT UNTIL IT GROWS BACK" line added to it. That was classic.
