You know what's sad it even makes me want to give respect to this guy ...

Even if he had a corked bat lol...

But really, it makes people like Griffey Jr., Thomas and McGriff that much better.

Yup, did you know it snows here?

And yeah the Rangers had a bunch of cheaters on their rosters, and they still sucked.

Hell yeah it does. Biggio was fantastic. Gwynn was one of the greatest hitters of all time. Re: HITTERS. Not Home-Run Hitters. I hate how hitting HRs is now recognized as being a great "hitter" and just getting on base from singles/doubles, and playing small ball wasn't a big thing anymore. Also, look at Chipper Jones. He was a fantastic hitter, albeit he's been injury prone to hell and back the last 5+ years. I'd say Andruw Jones too, but hell no. That year he hit 50+, I'm almost positive he took PED's. The way he fell off after that just should prove that.

Anyway, Pujols, even the Crime-Dog, Fred McGriff.. Frank Thomas and Griffey as mentioned earlier... all of those hitters have been great, but do they get the accolades or anything? No. They don't because we had guys like McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds there leeching all of the coverage because of their bloated numbers. Fucking cheaters, FADFALHJKDFJS. D:

    I'm done.

Ricky Henderson never used PEDs, and according to him, he is the greatest of all time.

Ricky Henderson lol. He raises some eyebrows too, no? He got huge as the years went by. But I admit, I was a fan of his.

    Ortiz, as in David Ortiz?

Who's been "big" but not in a muscular way his whole career?
Ortiz, who's biggest HR year was 2 years after he started playing in a park with a really short right field full time?

The same Ortiz who has been out with bad knees, bad wrists etc now for about 2 years?
He hit 31 HR's in 2003, 41 in 2004, when he started playing full time, he hit 47 in 2005, and 54 in 2006, 3 years after the big testing happened.

If Ortiz was on steroids, he got the discount shit.
Bad knees, bad wrist, etc. He's breaking down at an early age, he may look fat, but he has tree trunks for biceps.

Canseco has a shit eating grin on his face right now.

Edit: Didn't realize he admitted, good, that was the best thing he could have done. Legacy tainted or not, it'll subdue the shitfest somewhat.

The only thing ever linked to Ortiz was a very remote report that he got some weird protein shake in the Dominican but that's a pretty big stretch to say he used.

Besides. I could hit 300 hitting in front of Manny. It'll be interesting to see what kind of season numbers he puts up with(edit:without) Manny when he's (presumably) healthy.

without Manny you mean, and yeah. I honestly think Ortiz was fantastic in the clutch while batting behind Manny, but I think he mostly road his coat tails. :/ I have much respect for Big Papi, but I honestly don't think he'd have those numbers if he was the one that didn't get pitched around. I don't think it was a coincidence this past year that he struggled a lot.

Well, according to the Sportscenter interview that he gave today, A-Rod admits that he used steroids during the 2001-2003 but claims he has not used them since. Kudos to him for at least admitting the truth...hopefully.

Man I just got home and watched that interview, it is surreal. He was very straight forward and did not dance around the topic or suggest Gammons speak to his lawyer or anything like Raffy and Bonds have done in the past. He seemed quite contrite and made no excuses or justifications. He gave reasons when asked as to why by Peter Gammons.

Crazy. Not a Yanks fan or a A-Rod fan boy but it was refreshing seeing someone not defer to their lawyer or give that "Due to pending litigation I am unable to comment" bullshit.

Oh god, let Canseco go apeshit and set up a press conference listing names on the whim.

That '01 Rangers team is hilarious. There's at least 6 roiders there along with the ONE guy who went to the union on a yearly basis telling them that steroid use was rampant, only to get shot down each and every time.

Well to start with, he did defer to the head of the player's committee, but I'm sure Boras (his agent) told him to come clean if he wants to save even a little bit of his dignity image. Now his image won't be dirty and grimy like Bonds/Clemens, but it sure as hell won't be spotless either. He'll never clean it up, and people won't forget. People may brush it aside for people like Pettite who.. let's be honest.. won't get in the Hall of Fame, but A-Roid was one of the players that could turn into the greatest of all time, and the MLB needed him since Bonds is so dirty right now. Do they have that? No. Not now. Now that A-Roid has been exposed. It's a shame really.

Either way, Jim Rome just mentioned Griffey and how his numbers look impressive since he supposedly did it clean and what not. Honestly, if someone else that could be temped was in his position when he went through those injuries, do you think they would have taken HGH to get "healed faster" like Pettite did? Probably. Did Griffey? No. It just all makes me so sick to think about it. The sport is already dying, and getting less and less interesting, so now we have to have a larger steroid cloud over it again. Awesome.

Yeah I respect him and Pettite a lot more for that than I do Sosa's magical disappearance of English skills or McGwire's 'I'm not here to talk about the past bs'.
