    Problems running monitor / HDTV

Hi guys. Just got a new 32" Sony Bravia last night. Tried hooking it up to my PC via HDMI cables. The monitor shuts down and the desktop shows up on the TV. I'd like run both at the same time. Is this possible? Oh, I'm running a Sapphire 4870 1GB version and Hydravision is enabled.. although I'm quite clueless on how to set it up. All help is appreciated.

Do you have a second monitor enabled in your display settings?

Also, keep in mind, you can't use different resolutions when displaying on two screens. One will have to suffer a drop in quality. But should be in your video card settings. At least, it is for nvidia.

I think he means when cloning the screen.

If you're running dual displays you can set them to run individual resolutions.

I had assumed if he was going to want to have his display on both the TV and his monitor at the same time, it would be a cloned screen, not a dual display.

Oh, yeah I guess so. Dualview is the way to go anyway!
