Roscoe's is about as far away from ghetto fried chicken as it gets, and I'm not saying that as praise. What you'd spend for one person there is the equivalent of a full family's meal at any of the other mentioned places. So if that's the kinda place Ludacris praised, he's one fake ass son of a bitch.

Meh. I just got back from Popeye's across the street. The 3-piece mixed combo, here in Hollywood is $7.69. At Roscoe's in Hollywood - a sit-down restaurant with waitresses and stuff, the Carol C. special (One breast, one waffle - the staple of the establishment) is $8.50. In California prices it's not markedly more expensive, especially considering it's not a fast-food place.

On top of that, Roscoe's actually has chicken made by black people (you're much more likely to hear the word "pollo" than "chicken" at the Popeyes around here), and isn't owned by some global restaurant conglomerate with a board of directors and shit.

Also, there's always underground rappers outside trying to sell their CDs - I believe the phrase I heard when I went there last week with my cousin was "I got dat work son" as he held up his album.

Whether it's "ghetto" is just...I don't know what that is. It's definitely more 'real' than Popeye's or KFC.

Was just responding to the idea that Ludacris is "fake" for shouting-out Roscoe's instead of Popeye's or it's ilk. Whatever fake means, it's more applicable to "down-home southern black food" made by mexicans than "down-home southern black food" made by blacks.

And at KFC you can get a bucket of chicken for under $10, plus Popeye's has plenty of specials. Ain't my fault you bought expensive shit. Roscoe's is costly all the time, with tons of their meals coming in at over $10. You can get a shitload of chicken, sides, and biscuits at Popeye's for less than $25. That won't even get you two meals with a drink at Roscoe's.

Hell, KFC has a deal that nets you a bucket of chicken, two sides, five biscuits, and a cake for under $25, usually under $20 with all those damn coupons they send out. You hear me? You get a fucking cake.

So as far as a discussion about ghetto chicken goes, no, Roscoe's doesn't compete. If Ludacris is too damn fancy to get himself a cheap bucket of greasy chicken, he can fuck off.

Honestly, I don't think that the chicken at Roscoe's is that great. The one that go do in downtown Pasadena has pretty dry chicken. However, their waffles with the ice cream scoop of butter are to die for.

Five Guys is fucking amazing. Ate at one in Baltimore two weeks ago, best "fast food" (though I'm not even sure you can call it that) I've ever had, by far.

On topic, though, I must be the only one in the entire world who actually likes KFC. Shit's fucking delicious, I don't care how greasy it is.
