Meh. I just got back from Popeye's across the street. The 3-piece mixed combo, here in Hollywood is $7.69. At Roscoe's in Hollywood - a sit-down restaurant with waitresses and stuff, the Carol C. special (One breast, one waffle - the staple of the establishment) is $8.50. In California prices it's not markedly more expensive, especially considering it's not a fast-food place.
On top of that, Roscoe's actually has chicken made by black people (you're much more likely to hear the word "pollo" than "chicken" at the Popeyes around here), and isn't owned by some global restaurant conglomerate with a board of directors and shit.
Also, there's always underground rappers outside trying to sell their CDs - I believe the phrase I heard when I went there last week with my cousin was "I got dat work son" as he held up his album.
Whether it's "ghetto" is just...I don't know what that is. It's definitely more 'real' than Popeye's or KFC.
