those numers seem fine to me, I think I remember A15->A10 taking over 4000 stacks. That was before the chocobo breeding. They explicitly said that digging skill up would be easier, that digging goblin digger items and doing chocobo hot-and-cold would boost your skill ups.

Also 15-20 stacks a day is what I need (rental chocobo). I've read somewhere that the bore/burrow items don't count in the 100 items limit, but have their own limit, so basically it increase your limit to 120 instead of 100.

Whats all this A15 A20 A35 business i mean i realize they're your rankings or whatever but what do they stand for how do you realize what rank you are? there is no skill ups that you can physically see..

A question for you guys/gals with Burrow/Bore birds, how many stacks of greens does it take you to hit your 100 item limit normally?

My bird is TF/Bore and I bring 16 stacks out with me, usually come home with .5-2 stacks.

However, Midgar has a metric crapton of diggers, so a lot of greens get wasted trying to see if a zone is dug out or not (and I don't even try for the most popular zones -- I avoid the Deserts like the plague).

Sounds like the hassle I've been having from trying to figure out my exact rank, all that it was for me is laggy connection and some zones took far longer to load than others on my old PC which messed it up. Got a new PC recently and it's been far more accurate with the zone wait time wherever I am digging at.

Also I was trying to dig up coral in W.Altepa and I got 1 in about 8 stacks / or about 40 min I would say ! Not a bore or burrow item for that zone but I had many many many You dig and dig but find nothing. Will the amount of stuff and rarity of stuff I dig up be better as I rank up as well for any particular zone?

Also, yes, the higher skill you get, the easier it is to dig up rare items. Also, if you get a bunch of "You dig and dig, but find nothing" the zone is probably dug up, as it's one of the most popular zones to dig in.

Today I had an extremely profitable dig. For some reason, the deserts weren't entirely dug up *GASP* so I managed to get 6 Coral Fragments, 5 Gold Ores, a Philosopher's Stone, and two Darksteel ore (which I synthed into darksteel ingots because I got iron ores with them). I zoned into the other desert and got a handful of wyvern scales. It would be a great day if not for the fact that I failed 2 scorpion harness synths and lost 500k. However, was nice to recoup some of my loss.

damn nice on the coral frags, I don't even bother with western altepa anymore I never get anything never mind frags, I have a lot of good runs with wyvern scales, platinum ores, in Eastern so I usually do 1/2 my digging in eastern and other half of my digging in valkurm, valkurm is never dug up and I make decent gil on phoenix feathers, black chocobo feathers, red moko grass, I craft with the giant femurs, craft the shall shells, occasionally get some demon stuff, not too long ago I got 2 demon skulls in one session and they both turned into demon helm +1 ^^
I'm at A25 digging right now, been sooooooooo long since I lvled it's gotta be close it's driving me crazy lol

But um I decided to do woodworking on my mule. It's just as easy to make stacks of lumber for decent profit too. Mmmmmmm petrified logs and ebony logs galore!

Yeah, I've been thinking it would be good for me to relevel woodworking. I really want it for jungle digging, where I come out with like, 30 logs.

And wow, grats on the good dig! I'm jealous.

Most of the good zones have been dug up, so I haven't gotten in as much digging as I'd like, mostly just hot and cold. I've gotten either 4 or 5 dune hot and cold games done, which means I still need a few more until I can get the desert chocograph.

I'm also trying to teach my chocobo Bore. He now has Impressive discernment, but he's being stubborn and not learning the story! Frustrating chocobo
