Getting conflicting reports here. Did this come out today or is it not coming out until tomorrow. Everything I've read said today but I called Best Buy and they say tomorrow. Anyone know for a fact, as in did you purchase it?

Video games are almost always released on Tuesday, but except for big ticket releases (halo 3, etc) this is the ship date and stores won't receive them until wednesday. The genesis collection releases today, and there's a slim chance you could pick it up today if the store you're shopping at is near the warehouse for that company (like lexington, KY for gamestop, i think) but there's a 99% chance you'll have to wait til tomorrow, when their UPS/FedEx shipment comes in.

It's a common misconception that used to come up several times a week when I worked at gamestop, hope that clears things up for you. Rule of thumb = day after release date is when you can pick it up.

That's what I figured. But I couldn't find any verification for the store release dates. Seeing as most new cds, games, dvds hit stores on Tuesday's I figured I would be good. Any mod want to kill this thread since it's been answered?

Blew through all of the achievements fairly quickly. Was a good nostalgia trip, but I'm definitely going back to play through Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles (even though THEY ARENT LINKED), but it's time to start on F.E.A.R. 2!

I hate shit like that sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles the only way to play that game is with them linked.

Went to both Best Buy and Gamestop near my house. Both sold out. So I bought the new MSTK 3000 compilation on dvd. So it wasn't a total loss.

Just picked this up..played me some Dynamite Headdy..now going to indulge myself in some Shining Force 2. Saw the game is back-ordered on Gamestop's site..luckily the Best Buy here had a few copies.

Yeah I started playing Kid Chameleon and Shining Force 2. Then I stopped and delved into Fear 2. Awesome game. Flat out awesome. Except the electricity monsters, they are fucking lame.

lol, I expected to try a few more games, but I ended up putting 6 hours in to Shining Force 2...............didn't realize the game was still that fun. Stopped at the harpy pool fight...those bitches hit hard.

Yeah I got it primarily for Shining Force I & II. But the Sonic games and Streets of Rage are pretty nice to go back to. Some of the games I had never even heard of lol.
