Spore was fun for about 4 hours. Then it become simply absurd.

I want to talk to someone who actually had the patience to beat the entire game. Every stupid mission in space.

    Sim City for life.

EDIT: Anyone play The Sims? Isn't The Sims 3 supposed to be out in like a week or something?

Problem I always had with The Sims is that I can't bring myself to play it properly.

I always start with one character, but because it's at work all the time it never meets other Sims. So I make another one to socialize with whilst the other earns the money. Except then one of them is entirely socially retarded.

Eventually I get tired of trying, make a huge house fill with lesbos who're all sleeping with each other, then watch them tear each other to pieces fight after fight, and once that's done I cram them all in a room and delete all the doors and watch them die.
    Then I uninstall the game.

This whole sequence takes about 24 hours.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

did you try the sims 2? One of the major things they fixed was giving actual days of the week the sims worked. So most got 2-3 days off in a week (slacker career gets like 4 I think).

    I can't wait for the sims3!

I tried all of them. Going to likely play Sims 3 to see how quickly I get bored of it and start up on the ol' genocide.

For sims 2, it just takes a bit of time management. All you really need to do is spend 1 evening with a sim you want to befriend, chatting them up and gradually moving up the ladder of interaction, and then all you need to do to maintain that friendship is call them on the phone every few days and talk. On days off you can make new friends or invite over old ones to improve the relationship more rapidly. It's not all that hard.

I've no patience for Sim games I think. The one time I did well I accidentally turned the AI on and the fucker quit their job at the top of the IT ladder to become a Team Mascot. I think that's where the genocides started.

SimCity is about the same too. I build cities but the constant bitching ends up with me putting Coal-Run Electric plants everywhere and then messing up water supplies out of spite for my advisors and the general populace.

I really should give both games another go.

The Sims was mostly a big sandbox for me. Study and socialise as is needed to get to the top, make cash, build dream mansion with expensive stuff, get bored. Maybe mess around a day or two with making love hexagons and killing of sims, but it's mostly the building stuff that's fun for me.

That's why I've always loved Sim City 4, start small, build a town and expand it until you get a skyline and everything works well. If you get tired of that, you can always try to fill a whole region with different kinds of cities or try to build a stupidly planned out pretty city.

Societies was garbage compared to 4. ._.

Glad I'm not the only one that didn't enjoy The Sims. City building or GTFO.

I always made my Sim City 4 cities with a bunch of suburbs where the skyline juts out of nowhere, like LA.

What EA needs to do is expand their Terrain Generator to make regional plots instead of city plots. They also need to fine tune some of their AI. I know there's a mod out, but what the hell was Maxis thinking - making sims take the shortest commute route and not the fastest commute route. Always pissed me off. I had to make bottlenecks for them to use my highways, otherwise they never used them.

The mod I got for it though seems to help a bit, I also see a large increase in mass transit - especially bus.
