They can't because in the FFXI situation, SE is the ones wrong for punishing them with more than a slap on the wrist and SE is also wrong because they didn't give out every single detail (not that every company does to begin with)...so how can someone move on when they act as though they've been raped?

They don't have to give a reason for their banning,it's their game. If those people compare a banning in a video game to being raped than those people are very sad people who obviously shouldn't have played this game from the beginning and need some form of counseling. I mean how in the world can someone say they didn't know what they were doing when someone was obviously telling them how they were getting the items. A common thought to your head should tell you that if you are breaking a party and your getting more of that item something should click and make you think "Oh wow this must be some sort of a cheat or something" At least I would be able to tell if it was some sort of cheat or something.

Also I believe and agree with the bannings somewhat. At the sametime I think they shold have take all of their gear away. However, people knew this wasn't right yet they hid it and people actually brought people in so they could dupe and sell the items to random people they brought with them to their runs. Those people are no different from any other cheater.

Quite frankly, I prefer SE's translators to spend their time by giving us FFXI translations, instead of telling 1000 (temp and indefinitely) banned people what exactly they did wrong.

You're missing the point where the people responsible for finding/fixing the bug and banning the players who exploited it where transparent in their process. While SE has no obligation to reveal the criteria it used to determine which players got perma vs temp-banned, it is at least a little frustrating to see no external pattern evident because it looks like they did it completely at random, with no consideration for severity of intention to exploit.

The overall message here is that SE manages its community very poorly and when it does, very opaquely and one-sidedly.

Yeah but I knew that already. That's why I choose not to do shit that might earn me the ire of SE and their ass-backwards system. It's always been this way with them. Are we supposed to be surprised or care more now about it because it was 'elite' level players that got banned and not some poor schmuck who tried ffxiapp 'only one time'?

You're not supposed to do anything, but I guess your message of 'SE will never change its ways so I'll never raise my voice and keep paying my subscription fee' is also accomplished by saying absolutely nothing. I don't know what you get out of bawling at players who say otherwise.

honestly if a semi-decent ffxi endgame LS showed as much dedication in Eve-online as they do to the endgame content of ffxi you could do some pretty awesome things in eve-online,
