Good fucking riddance. That service went straight to the toilet after the merger.
I feel the same way, I really liked the old XM. The Sirius merger added a bunch of gayass regular radio sounding promos, for instance it will sound like a chain smoker talking inside of a trashcan with retarded reverb, advertising for country or metal on say the indie channel, its stupid. And they kicked out some of the shows/DJs I liked. Overall it just pissed me off. But I would love to have regular XM back...
YOU CAN"T BE SERIOUS
^ I don't see what you did there.
Agreed. Sirius was better than Sirius XM, and I don't doubt that XM was better too. Rather than actually improving the service, they just took a bunch of XM stations and a bunch of Sirius stations and mixed them together, and added a bunch of obnoxious promos to get you to listen to stations you really don't give a shit about.
I had Sirius a few years ago, then I got a new car and I got shitty reception, so I got rid of my service.
Then I switched to XM for O&A. I was happy when they first merged because Sirius had far better music stations.
I had Sirius for about 2 years. Ended my service about a year ago because of the retarded promo shit. I agree that after the merger down the drain it went.
Poor Mad Dog Russo, I wonder if he'll try to suck it up and ask for his job back at WFAN!
If you actually read the article it explains they are in the midst of a hostile takeover bid and they might use bankruptcy to prevent it. The service isn't going anywhere, they do have a positive cashflow, they're just suffering from the growing pains of launching such an expensive "up front" cost service.
Merger really didn't change too many of the regular stations that I listened too, so I didn't mind it. I thought something like this was in danger of happening considering I've gotten many different e-mails offering lifetime subscriptions.
I listen to talk radio/comedy stations more than music stations on sirius.
I enjoy the music stations, but it's the talk stations that make it worth the monthly fee. Between Howard Stern, Chris Russo, and Raw Dog Comedy, that pretty much fills up my day.
paying for radio.. lolololol or smth like that.
Thank you. Yes, actually read the article. A lot of people often misunderstand what bankruptcy means and have a stigmatized over reaction when they hear it. Bankruptcy does not mean the company is going out of business for good. Airnlines, for example, have gone through many bankruptcies, but those companies still exist today and continue offering their service partly thanks to the bankruptcy process. It seems they will continue their service but will probably undergo significant changes.
Had to hold my breath for a second, then I actually read the article. Thought I was about to lose listening to howard stern.
good.
next, lets hope Clear Channel gets on the receiving end of a nuclear strike.
I spent an afternoon with satellite radio before I decided the thing was useless. I'd rather listen to Mexican AM radio.
Give me a real person behind the mic, if I want to listen to a MP3 player on shuffle, I'll listen to my MP3 player.
rot.
Howard would most likely work for peanuts to stay on Satalite just so he doesn't have to deal with FCC fines. Honestly if Sirius offered him half of what they are paying, he'd have still left cause the government was hell bent on shutting him down. As it is, Sirius XM will be around for a while. Correction did Satalite radio stand you up or something, cheat on you with the high school football quarterback? You sure seem to be harboring a lot of hate towards a service it seems you don't even pay for. Why don't you tell us how you really feel.![]()
