Sirius XM Radio filing for bankruptcy

Thread title is misleading. They haven't filed yet, only considering it. There's a difference.

They filed for bankruptcy protection. For all those that hate on it, don't fucking pay for it then. For the people like myself who do enjoy Sirius XM, shit sucks if they fold. My dad's also a Sirius XM dealer so this is shitty news for him.

Buddy gave me his old sirius radio, turns out he had a lifetime subscription.

So I am thoroughly enjoying my Sirius XM experience.

Sirius XM is in debt 4.5 billion dollars. In 2008 they made a total of 2.5 billion, so if everything stays stable for 2 years they will be fine and probably in the airwaves for some time as it should. Anyone listen to Hardcore Sports Radio? Sports Rage changed my life it is so amazing!

I'm not saying they won't do it. They are certainly preparing for the possibility but there are other scenarios that may happen too.

Don't knock it till you try it. As someone with a long commute, the very idea of losing XM and going back to the choice of the 3-4 shiteous local morning shows, or trying to get AM after 6pm for talk radio...... oh hell no.

Also, I'm addicted to the POTUS channel.

I wanted to get this when I was with my ex just because we were in the car all of the time and nothing was on the radio.. and his shocks sucked so CDs always skipped. I heard it was really decent though, hate this economy :/

If I like the cd yes, though the last one I bought was Apocalyptica's album. I also buy DVD's and Books though I could get em for free online. But why not support the people that give me stuff I enjoy. Just cause your so cool and anti conformity to not pay for stuff, doesn't mean everyone else is. I even pay for video games as well even though I could easily torrent em.

How does my speculation make me the dumb ass? He was complaining about the FCC doing a whole witch hunt on his show and unfairly targeting him. For him the Sirius deal was a no brainer. Get paid a shit ton of money and say fuck you to the government. Even at 75 mil or even 50 mil, it was a lot more then Clear Channel or any other Radio Broadcast company would pay him, and he wouldn't have to hold back anything on his show or worry bout getting fined.
