Taking the cost away from respeccing between two specs is great, but the lexicon of power (or inscriber ability) requirement seems like a pointless annoyance, not like it's going to add any fun or longevity to the game. It won't save you any time at all if you don't happen to have a warlock or an inscriber in your raid, which is quite often in 10 mans.

My understanding is that 10s rarely have flex room like 25s do to allow for an extra offtank for certain encounters or such, and the 10 man group has to be more carefully balanced to begin with...so I kind of see it being a moot point in that scenario.

I totally see the point of the Lexicon. Allowing every Warrior to respec Prot on the fly so they can solo a G3 quest and then respec back to Fury for their usual grinding is silly.

Yeah, there're definitely no fights in 10 man nax where you might want a different amount of heals, or not need an offtank, and there certainly won't be any such fights in any other future 10 man raids, good point.

As opposed to warlocks, hunters, and feral druids soloing group quests than just continuing to grind faster than any warrior could without respeccing at all? Not that it matters, since it seems they're only allowing dual-spec at 80.

Every class and spec has its limits, even the ones you listed. The minor inconvenience of having to go back to town to swap specs is a pretty small price to pay to make yourself 'optimal' for any given individual task. If you don't want to go back to town...then you work within your current limits.

It's not like we have to farm reageants or something every time we want to swap :3

What limits? You implied there would be a problem with warriors respeccing to prot on the fly to solo difficult things, when those classes can solo said things better than a prot warrior, and also grind faster than a fury warrior, with the same spec. You think a warrior being a little better at solo but still well worse off than those classes (and others) would somehow be unbalanced?

As for going to town to be "optimal" for a task, 50g is also a pretty small price to pay, and we can already do it. Blizzard said one of the main things they wanted to do with dual-spec was reduce time wasted from having people hearth/respec/resummon, why make that only true if you have an inscriber in raid?

Time to dual-spec resto and then never, ever switch because my guild would have a mage heal before having me heal.

Hearthing to Dalaran, switching specs, and flying/being summoned back out to where you need to be will take drastically less time and headache in comparison to hearthing, resetting your talents, having to go through all your talents again on the new spec (which you may have memorized by now, sure, but if you make a mistake you're fucked), reset your action bars, and either re-glyph or look at your glyphs and say fuck it.

And you don't need an inscriber, you need an item made by an inscriber. To quote the interview:

Lexicons of Power will be available in major cities, and inscribers will also be able to create a new item that summons one. Anyone can purchase this item...
So as long as at least 1 person in the raid has the item, you're fine. I'm guessing the amount of people needed to summon it will be 3, because of how they worded it and that's what other similar spells take right? 3 people?

3 total, yeah; the "caster" and then two assists.

I have 3 second specs that I want to use, now just to figure out which one I use most frequently (and pray that the implement more than dual spec, with an increasing cost like bank tabs).
