As far as the stadium talk goes in regards to "cheap" homers. I don't see anyone ever saying shit about the Rockies who play in Coor's field, and there is one other stadium which name escapes me which featured more home runs to date in its inaugural season. Guess what, the teams playing the Yankee's at home are playing in the same stadium AND CAN HIT HOME RUNS JUST AS EASILY. The *only* arguement you could have here, is that the yankee players home run totals are going to be semi-inflated from a statistical standpoint. Saying it gives them an unfair advantage when the opposing team has the same dimensions are their disposal is just fucking retarded so stop it.
He got hit, twice. In two days. Dumbass. I'm surprised Youk didn't charge sooner. Detroit gets all huffy when Cabrera looks like a retard for check-swinging, trying to cheat on a pitch and getting his hands caught in the way, and they respond with a buzz to V-Mart and a hit in the back to Youk. That shit can end a hitter's career, don't be fucking stupid. Also, no one's whining about the Rockies because they have three teams hot on their ass for a wild card bid and if they even make it to a WS again they'll probably get swept (again) by whichever far superior AL team will make it.

Best part of the whole thing was that Nolan Ryan didn't get ejected from the game, just Ventura. Second best thing to come from that was the post game interview. Nolan was asked why he beat the hell outta Ventura more or less, and his response: "Well, he wasn't coming out there to shake my hand."

It happens, its baseball, guys get fucking thrown at, especially when you play for the Sox because they certainly aren't shy of pitching in at people. He's one of their top hitters, and obviously one of their most valuable players, so who else are you going to throw at? It's not like the Tigers weren't getting pegged and throw in at in the series. This wasn't out of no where, or unmerited. It was just hard nose baseball, he pegged him in the back, at least he didn't aim for his head.

At least he got made to look like an idiot when he got thrown to the ground by a skinny 20 year old. Maybe he'll think twice the next time he does that.

Looks like the Phillies are making up for their lack of hitting last night.

Mike Lowell is certainly trying to make the case that he deserves to play every day in the last two games: 5/7, 3 HR, 5 RBI is pretty damn impressive.

I honestly wasn't really expecting much outa Pedro...if he keeps this up and Hamels gets more consistent Phillies starting pitching would be pretty nasty.

I'm guessing it's to fire the team up, 6.5 GB in both the Central and the Wild Card is nothing at this point. And let's be honest, how many people are buying the Rockies right now? Marquis and Cook seem to be getting people out regularly, I'm just not sure how.
    Go go my Rockies!

Cook was the only starter last season to have any success and he became the de facto ace after Francis went down midway through last season. I've been very impressed by Marquis. Usually, good pitchers who come to Colorado pitch like crap (hello Denny Neagle).

Honestly, I think the WC will boil down to the Rockies and whichever team doesn't win the Central (Cards or Cubs).

But I can't discount the Giants. They have been a thorn in my side all summer.

Who knows, The Giants and Rockies might both make the playoffs by overtaking LA. Both teams have picked up a lot of ground on the Dodgers lately and there's still a lot of baseball left.

You'd figure Cubs fans would understand that you don't interfere with a ball in play. I guess they just like the loser label.

Yeah I couldn't believe the beer toss. Stay classy, Cubs fans.

On another note, it seems that Josh Hamilton has finally snapped out of it. Just hit another 2 RBI double for the second game in a row and he has been hitting over .400 ever since his drunken photos were made public. I know he claimed that didn't affect him before, but it seems to me a weight has been lifted off his shoulders just a tad bit.

God this made me sick. The guy tried to be all inconspicuous and just sort of shovel the beer off to the side and sat back down in his seat pretty quick. I hope they ban this clown from Wrigley forever, it only takes one asshole to ruin a game for everybody around him.

It's been a rough week for Victorino, first he's ejected from a game for reacting to balls and strikes in center field and now this bullshit.

And to top it all off, we get Cliff Lee tonight. GG, Cubbies.

Threw 2 perfect innings in today's game. Struck out 5 of 6 batters faced.

And people around here wondered why there were people screaming at the top of their lungs not to trade people like him and Holland in a Roy Halladay trade (or anyone else for that matter).

You guys have the best farm in the game, I don't know why they didn't try and work out a deal. Would have put them as the WC frontrunners.

Halladay was a dead issue more or less. He would've vetoed the trade. Even so the trade would've involved Holland, Feliz, Justin Smoak, and Martin Perez.

Ramirez isn't too well known right now, but those in the know of Texas' prospects rank him as a higher prospect than both Holland and Feliz. He just got promoted to AA Frisco from low-A ball...at 18 years old.

He's a lefty with a mid 90s fastball, plus curve, and plus change. I'm sure his name will be floating around big time next season.

I'm quite happy with this stockpile right now. We could have one hell of a scary rotation in 2010 and beyond.
