Haha, oh god. Now Santana has discomfort in his pitching elbow, scratched for tomorrow. Now the Mets really are not better than a AAA team.

They are 7th in road OPS, 10th in road runs. ???
And what's to defend is their not a bottom feeding offensive team. They're below average but far from bottom feeding. Saying otherwise is just looking at things skin deep.
Yeah, Blanks, Cabrera, Venable, Kouz, Headley.. totally guys that send chills up pitcher's spines, Haha.
132, 113, 122, 96, 97 OPS+.. totally a AAA line up, Haha.
Yeah, and all of those statistical numbers have translated into what? Twenty two games under .500 and last in the league (1 behind Cincy for 29th) in the Majors. Skin deep or not, sometimes you don't have to look to far to see what you need to see.
As far as the Mets go.. yeah. They're completely fucked. They may as well mail it in.
Also, Ensam. Tell me this. How the hell did the Marlins not take at least two out of the three this weekend against the Braves while they missed Church, Prado, Anderson, AND McLouth from their line-up?
When does talk about CY awards start heating up?
Does 5-0 with a 0.68 ERA (granted, only 5 games, but his #s were good in the AL too) get it for ya?
Which is exactly why he has zero chance to win. The same reason Manny had zero chance to win. Just because he'll put up a half of a year worth of amazing stats, he won't have a chance. I don't think CC finished better than 3rd or 4th in the Cy Young standings.
Also, his stats from the AL do not count.
I'd rather JA Happ get Cy Young votes than Cliff Lee. Cliff Lee is just dazzling every start, but you shouldn't win a major award like that based on so few starts.
JA Happ for Rookie of the Year too, woo.
I also love good Ryan Howard. 8 HR and 22 RBI since August 13th. Insane.
Lee has no shot at it this year. I think Carpenter is the favorite right now in the NL, but I think that Lincecum will win it if he catches up to him in wins and ERA, which is a possibility. Timmy's K/9 and H/9 is much better than all of the other Cy competitors; plus if he was on the Cardinals he'd have 15 wins by now.
Yeah. I like Lincecum's shot at a repeat this year most definitely.
Heh. Anyone know the record for consecutive baserunners without an out to start an inning?
I'm sure this isn't it, but after 5 innings of futility, the Brewers put 8 guys on (double, HR, single, walk, wild pitch to advance runners followed by intentional walk, single, single, single) today to start the 6th inning. Baseball almanac wasn't helping.
Don't stop get it get it
Beckham goes yard, 4-1 Sox
Aaaaaand the Red Sox score 6. Chicago may play their way out the Central race if they don't perform this week. Red Sox/Yankees/Twins road trip will tell you a lot about your season once it's done.
Don't worry Red Sox fans, just carry a lead until the 8th inning. We're currently 1-52 on the year after trailing in the 8th inning or later. Worst come-back team in baseball? Probably
At least it's fun to watch Gordon Beckham, and we might see Peavy pitch at least one game before the year is over.
Congrats though Red Sox fans, you defeated Father Time, aka Jose Contreras. You'll have some more easy scoring opportunities tomorrow against Freddy Garcia (haha).
Beckham could really be a stud. Hopefully he keeps it up.
