*pelvic thrust* @ Cephius
S'ok man, Cordero gave up 3 hits in .2 IP for my fantasy team, could've had the save.
Fucking hate you Archi.
Holy crap, that game gave me a freakin' heart attack. I'm really wondering why we didn't just stick with C.J. after Francisco came back from the DL -- he was simply lights out. Frankie has looked like shit in several save situations lately (especially on back to back nights).
At least it was good to see Davis do something beside strike out every at bat. Evlis also came up clutch on the eve of his 21st bday with 3 RBI (AL Rookie of the Year, I think so).
As far as the bunt, I completely agree with the call to lay it down. Only reason I wouldn't do it is if Swisher just couldn't bunt his way out of a paper bag...which honestly it looked like it. I'm not too familiar with his bunting skills, so I'll plead ignorance here. I'm pretty old-school for baseball -- if you are down by a run and have two men on and no one out, no question you bunt and get your speedy pinch runner 90 feet away to extend the game. Not worth risking the double play IMO.
Wonderboy (Holland) better go deep into the game tomorrow night because both Frankie and Feliz will likely be down. O'Day and C.J. are likely going to be carrying the bullpen in the late innings.
Bunting with Nick Swisher with 1st and 2nd 0 out in the 9th.
Girardi, fucking moron, etc.
Braves take 2/3 from Marlins and promptly lose the first game to the fucking Padres. Oh well. NO PLAYOFFS NOW. I'm now rooting for the Rockies to complete their comeback on the Dodgers.
Swisher has 7 bunts in his career. Nuff said.
How many times has he been in a bunting situation and failed to advance the runners?
Who cares? He has 20+ homers on the season and a near 400 on base percentage. He works counts and Fransisco couldn't throw his way out of a paper bag all inning. Bam, you hand him an out, and the next batter crushes the ball but lines into a double play. Stupid. Yankees get on base better than any team in the MLB, let them do their job.
Well there we go then. All I heard on the Rangers broadcast was that he did it 3 times this season...so yeah, I'm with you there, fairly retarded move if the guy can't bunt. You roll the dice with the DP chance there because otherwise you are indeed likely handing your opponents an out that does no good. DP isn't guaranteed.
Most people probably won't care, but I squeeled with glee while reading this article. Real grass sprouts at Target Field
I can't wait!!! The Metrodome is horrible.
Hahahahahaha Brad Lidge sucks balls. He has 20 saves against the Pirates in his career I think and 6 blown saves against them. I hope the Pirates sweep them just for the lol factor.
I was never sold on McLouth when he was here. Too many times the Pirates would get a player that would have one good year and they would go berserk and throw buckets of money at them. Jack Wilson is a good example. The one year he hit over .300 the Pirates thought he was the second coming. Do it two years in a year, then we'll talk.
I actually watched the Pirates play last night. I was very surprised at how well Ohlendorf recovered from that first pitch home run. And Andrew McCutcheon is just impressive considering he's a rookie.
I give it two years before they both play for the Yankees.
Oh I know Ohlendorf is a former Yankee. But it's definitely something the Pirates would do. See Adam LaRoche.
