The Giants once again proved why they have the worst management in the game today. They did everything wrong, and yet they still somehow managed to squeak out a win. Having the best pitcher in baseball is nice.

Texas looks good, but the Red Sox are pretty hot right now. Though their rotation is still a question. Buchholz and Lester are on their games, but Tazawa got lit up last time out, Beckett has been on a terrible bad streak, and I think they're pitching Paul Byrd again because Wake's back isn't healing well.

They have beaten the ChiSox and Blue Jays though, who are just awful lately. The true test will be when they head down to Tampa next week, they never play well there.

Giants are only 1 game out of the wildcard with a chance to tie the race tomorrow. Zito has been our best pitcher in August and has his ERA down under 4.00 for the season now. I'm not getting my hopes up yet, but this is going to be very fun for the last month of the season.

I really can't stand the ESPN announcers. They're talking about the Phillies Defense and they're like "Utley has improved.". What the fuck? I haven't been following baseball too long but he's easily one of the top 5 2nd baseman in the game. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Joe Morgan hates Moneyball (even though he's never read it) because "a computer can't tell me anything about baseball" and still thinks Billy Beane wrote the book. Nuff said.

EDIT: Though to be fair, maybe they were just referring to Utley coming back from his hip surgery. But who knows.

John Miller is an aquired taste. I think the only reason I can tolerate him is he calls the Giants games on the radio during the weekdays.

I always liked Dan Shulman calling baseball and college basketball, and I have a soft spot for Rick Sutcliffe, but otherwise they are generally fail. Even so, at least they're better than the village of idiots over at Fox.

I didn't really watch much when he called but Harry Kallas is still my favorite. Tom Mcarthy, Sarge, and Wheels are alright and definitely a lot better than ESPN.

Giants signed Penny. Better then Martinez, but then again, just about anything is an upgrade. Another scary thought for Giants fans, Zito has a sub 2.0 era since the all star break. I'm just waiting for the whole dogs loving cats thing to begin and i'll know the world is crazy.
