I'm not gonna say "I told you so" about the Phillies bullpen... yet. Defense was more to blame. But still, no faith at all in them and I'd be surprised if the Dodgers don't win another game late.

Just got back from the Yankees and this has to be the most dominating they've ever been since the 98 season. Really no weaknesses right now. If Burnett can keep pitching well (he's still the key imo) there's no stopping this team.

And oh yeah, that Mariano guy is still pretty good.

Thursday the Dodger's pen blew a close game. Last night the Phillies couldn't get it done between bullpen/errors. Not enough credit is being given to Padilla imo. He pitched insanely well. Allowing one run to a line up like the Phillies is excellent and it's not like they even had alot of men on base the whole game.

Padilla is like a washup, I really think the Dodgers have to be holding their breath, praying, and crossing their fingers when they have to depend on him for a win. I mean he really stepped up, but when he was in Texas he was nothing special... Don't know how he could have really gone through such a dramatic change. In comparison its like if the Yanks need to depends on a #4 pitcher and they send up Gaudin. Props to him though, he pitched great.

Also, Yanks win is huge. Angels looked horrible and if they don't have a reasonable errorless game tomorrow the fire that carried them through Boston is gonna be hard to get back.

Likely just going to be a Jeff Weaver situation from '06. He has nice September, does well in playoffs, someone gonna give him way more money than he's worth because of that, and he'll go back to being Vincente Padilla and make his new club regret the contract.

Err saw the post a page or two back about the radio syncing up. Do anything special to get it to work or just dumb luck?

WPHT seems to have struck some sort of deal with Comcast or whatever and they suddenly work together. They're actually advertising it too. I heard it advertised on WIP. I don't even have digital cable or anything.

So wait. You'd walk Ethier and Manny so you get to pitch to Kemp with two guys on..? Manny was struggling pretty bad coming into the game in terms of power (had a few doubles) and Ethier had bad numbers against Hamels coming in (1-10), so I dunno if I would've walked them both..
Saying walking them both was more out of frustration out of how badly Manny and Ethier have killed the Phillies over the years...but in the situation they were in yesterday when there was a base open with 2 outs, yeah I wouldn't have given Manny a pitch to swing at. I know hindsight is 20-20 but if you were around me you would have heard me shouting to avoid Manny or not give him a thing to hit.

I like how the dramatic pan included Kobe Bryant looking kind of bored.
Wat. Pedro should have never come out of the game. 87 pitches and a 2-hitter going into the 8th...unless Pedro said "I'm tired I wanna come out" keep him the hell in. Since I was watching at a bar I may have missed some of the commentary...but why keep Pedro in a game in colder weather a few weeks ago for 130 pitches and then take him out now when pitching a gem? And how the hell does Happ walk in a run after starting out 0-2?? And why does Utley rush that throw when he had plenty of time??

Phillies handed that game to the Dodgers on a platter...they didn't win it.

Although that 55 to 93 to 77 MPH at bat that Victorino had to face was mad impressive. How can you possibly hit off that?

I was saying that I was tired of TBS doubting Pedro. I agree. I wish he would have stayed in.

Same, but Charlie told him he wasn't throwing more than 90 pitches. In the big picture though the Phillies did what they had to do. I don't see them losing 3 in a row at home especially behind Cliff Lee. If you ask me, the Phillies still have a better mindset than the Dodgers. They haven't played at CBP in over a week now and have a chance to take the series in front of their home crowd. Just like when we were angry that they didn't clinch on that road trip. They did it at home and was such a better experience for all the fans, team mates, and of course Brad Lidge.

The fans really need to bring it though. Hopefully they will be louder compared to the Rockies games in the afternoon.

I never dreamed the Phillies would lose a game because of an Utley throwing error. He only had 4 all year and has had 2 in the last two games. I don't blame him for the loss, you can't expect to win a playoff game when you only score 1 run.

Its ok though, we got the split and have 3 home games, and the Dodgers have to face Lee two times before its over. I also think Hamels still has the ability to pitch a gem against these guys, and his history against them backs this feeling up.

I'm very confident we'll still win this series.

Burnett has a terrible inning but the Angels somehow only score 2 runs. They can't get a big hit to save their lives.

And yet another blown call royally screws the Yankees as Jeter was safe by a mile. Amazing.

Tim Mcarver is a retard lol. Early in the Angels/Yanks game he was talking about the rain delay in the world series. He's like "Between the uh.... Phillies and Rays". Just wow lol.

Boy, the Yankees really love hitting into double plays tonight. Saunders has been let off the hook at least 5 times. But to Joe Buck, he's "shut down the Yankees". While Burnett "just got by". Yay for Fox!

He's watching a diffrent game obviously. Burnett pitched a good game, only gave up 3 hits, walk and hits batman is what hurt him.
