Holy fuck that sucks, he was their version of Hughes/Joba. Fuck.
Hope that guy goes to jail for a very, very long time![]()
Unfortunately, that wasn't the only death the Angels were involved with this week. On Monday, they had a fan killed at their stadium.
"My husband and son were leaving the ballpark and these guys came from the Bud Pavilion. The man who died started the fight and was pulverizing another man. All the fans were just trying to avoid the fight and my husband and son realized this man had some power behind the punches. Another man from the direction of the Bud Pavilion apeared and with one cut under the chin laid the deceased man out. The guy hit his head on the metal. All the men from the fight disappeared. My son checked the man pulse (he still had one) and stayed by his side until help arrived.
The problem is help didn't arrive for quite a long period of time. 20-25 minutes. The 911 calls went out from probably hundreds of fans. Fans were screaming at the "Straw Hats" and demanding help be sent in. We as a family who have been attending faithfully since 1971 are wondering about the medical assistance we would recieve if anyone of us fell or had some type of medical emergency. Yes, this man started the fight but he was someone's son."
".. my son and husband stayed until the EMT's from the statium came 20-25 minutes after the fall. My son's shoes and jeans had to be thrown away, ruined by blood. My son is the one who kept an checking his pulse there wasn't much anyone could do for the guy at that point. They spoke to the Statium Police that night and my husband has called the Anaheim Fire and Police Departments."

Hits closer than it normally would since there was big momentum of him coming over to the Marlins when Miguel Cabrera was traded. Absolutely horrible. RIP.
That's horrible news about Adenhart.![]()
I have a question about MLB.tv, maybe one of you guys can answer it before I decide to spend any money on it.
I work a lot of nights so I was thinking of getting it so I could watch Phillies games while I work, but obviously local teams are blacked out. If I had my dad purchase it for me (he lives in Virginia) would I be able to watch them here using his account? I don't know if they can track your location by IP or not. I guess I could just buy a month and test it out but I'd rather not.
Also thats horrible news about both the pitcher and the fan, its a shame stuff like that happens.
I was so close to changing to a championship ring avatar SOA, but you beat me to it. That's a great picture for it too.
They didn't in the past, but this year they are tracking IP addresses. I work in a different zip code than where I live, and even that caused it to lock my account for a couple of hours. I got my money back after a few phone calls, and dealing with dreadful service. I suggest staying as far away from MLB's online subscriptions as possible.
That's really too bad. A few years ago I got the radio package and it was really worth the money. One of my favorite baseball memories was sitting in the intern bullpen at NFL Films with my three best friends there listening to Mets @ Phillies in 2006 when the Phillies made one of those crazy comebacks during the 9 game winning streak against the Mets. They won 11-10 I think on a series of improbable plays. Although that same season I ordered a month of MLB TV to watch spring training and like four games ended up being available.
I too work some nights, I'm just thinking of grabbing an AM radio and listening to 1210 or whatever (or is it 1420). Either way, I'd rather that than having to deal with MLB. Only problem could be reception of AM.
I haven't had a MLB.TV account since '06 but the two aways around it before were
1) Proxy works perfect
2) Before if you opened up the game 30 minutes before game time, you wouldn't be blacked out. So just open it up, do something else for 30 minutes, come back and it works. Like I said though, that was 3 years ago, they might have fixed that much. Plus it's different viewers now I think?
Yeah, they switched to a flash player this year that's buggy as hell. Nothing like using the old player through Spring Training, then dropping having a beta test of their new player for opening day. It sucks, because I'll miss listening to Bob Uecker, Ron Santo, and Sterling + Waldman (although I can still get weak Yankee signals when I'm in southern RI), but I just can't justify giving MLB money for all the shit they pulled this year with their subscription plans. It was bad enough that they charged for radio broadcasts in the first place, which neither the NBA nor NHL charge for via their websites.
Thanks for the responses, guess I'll just pass on it this year.
I wish I could get AM signals where I work, but our building is a fortress that can barely get cell phone signals, and our firewall blocks all streaming media so I can't get them that way either. I guess I'm stuck watching shitty stat trackers again this year.
There are a couple great pics of it on Todd Zolecki's blog. I also looked up pics from some recent World Series rings and damn they are all pretty impressive.I was so close to changing to a championship ring avatar SOA, but you beat me to it. That's a great picture for it too.
