My favorite story about the brief time Soriano was in DC was listening to everyone complain about what a pitcher's park RFK was. Then Soriano hit more homers there than on the road. That shithole was in a swamp on the banks of the Anacostia (wait, so is the new place), and homeboy would just clobber the fucking ball.

I'm officially concerned about the Phillies right now.

Moyer has been bad, I mean really bad, and it looks like he may finally be done. I was a tad bit skeptical about resigning him but figured his mentoring to Hamels was worth the being brought back.

Lidge has also been terrible but at least he has an injury excuse. Still, he's given up 5 HR's already this year (only 2 total last year) and his velocity isn't close to what it was last year.

Rollins can't hit to save his life and is hovering around the Mendoza line. I blamed his down year last season on a nagging leg injury but perhaps he really is on the decline.

Our Catcher position currently ranks dead last in offensive production in the majors right now, with no real hope of getting better any time soon. I still think Marsen deserves a real shot to be our starter but good ol' Cholly seems to be dead set on sticking with Ruiz no matter what.

On the plus side Hamels seems to be back to himself finally, allowing only 3 ER's in his last 20 or so innings, and Park and Blanton have been better their last few starts (not that we can count on either honestly). Ibanez has been a brilliant pick up and Utley and Howard have been very good thus far too.

We need our starting pitching to improve drastically or else we won't make the playoffs this year. Park won't survive and we can plug Happ in his place, but if Moyer truly is done and Blanton doesn't improve, we are in trouble. You can't expect to succeed with roughly 2/3 of your wins being of the come from behind variety after your starters spot the opposition big early leads.

Haha. Naw. I'm just not a Milton Bradley fan. He's irked me on a couple Fantasy Baseball teams, and I personally think he's a jackass.

The Cubs though are in a dangerous situation in my opinion. With Harden, you're never sure if he's going to be healthy for a large stretch of the year. When healthy, he's fantastic, and has great stuff... but he's apt to injury, and that sucks majorly. Big Z's on the DL from an odd injury, but he should be back in a week or two I believe. Dempster's looked pretty good, and Lily's been alright. Who's their fifth starter? I forget.

So yeah. There's just a few unknowns for the Cubs this year, and the Cards/Brew-Crew look real good. :/

As far as the Phillies go, I agree. Lidge has looked awful this year, but that injury is a proper excuse. I'm sure he'll get better as the year goes on. Moyer has looked... old. I mean, I know he's old, but he can usually get past that with locating his pitches. He hasn't done that this year. Brett Myers is too Jeckyl/Hyde. One game, he can go 6-7 innings, give up a run, and look great. The next, he can give up three homers in an inning. Blanton is an interesting case, but he hasn't looked that great at all, and Park... yeah. You said it best. Basically, after Cole Hamels, it's a crapshoot for pitching. One good thing is even with Rollins struggling like mad, the Phillies still score a ton of runs for the most part.

Wouldn't necessarily put you as "struggling." That record would've been great in last years NL Central, but this year they've actually got good teams besides the Cardinals.
