George Brett and the Royals vs Ceciel Fielder and the Tigers in the World Series. You heard it here first.

That's all I meant by that. What the Braves have done this offseason did have something to do with what you said, considering you chose to call out the team yourself. You could have just as easily gone for a team that I'm not a fan of, and it would have been the same. The Braves wanted to pay him $80mil, and I thought that was stupid. I don't think I'd go more than 70mil with him, even with his big upside.
I'm not parading around the contract as if it was a steal. How am I gonna go aiming for another team when the Braves were the second highest bidders?

I didn't go "..." and "wow" at the stats. I "...'d" at you defending him as much as you did, considering he's had maybe two completely healthy/decent seasons during his entire career. Let's not base it all off of what he did last season. What makes you think he'll go through unscathed? I'd almost make a wager that he will not.
I defended his stuff. That dude I quoted said he had a shitty curve and a high 80's fastball, both of which are lol worthy.

I never said you had to give a shit about the Braves. I don't give a shit about any team in the MLB really as I'm getting sick and tired of baseball in general. I think you chose to poke at them though because you know I'm a fan of Atlanta's.
Dude, seriously. I commented on the Braves, because YOU, a Braves FAN made a comment about Burnett not being worth 90mil when YOUR team was the second highest bidder. I didn't pick on them out of the fucking blue to start an argument.

Never had a stage to pitch on..? What kind of fucking excuse is that? So now that he's going to the Yankees, I guess that means he "has a stage to pitch on"? Give me a fucking break. It's still the Major Leagues, no matter what team you pitch on. If anything, the pitching in New York thing will put a lot of pressure on him to succeed. If he handles pressure any way like A-Rod does, I can only imagine the catastrophe of this upcoming season.
He had a 1.84 ERA in 92 innings against the five best teams in the league (Anaheim, CHW, Boston, Tampa, NY) Some guys perform better when they have something to compete for.

Also, I'll continue to play the butthurt card on Yankees fans as long as they have fans who continue to be arrogant about what they have. I understand coming to the rescue of one of your favorite team's players, but sometimes it is too much on the extreme side of things. Burnett could very well win the Cy Young for all we know, but history dictates that something will go wrong.
Hilarious. I defended him against a dude who gave a shitty scouting report, you followed with a tacky "He isn't an All-Star then why does he get paid like one!?" response and I hit you back with the Braves comment.

Next time you want to spark an argument, try picking another team like the Orioles, or the Giants, or something. That way it won't look like you are goading me into something, okay? I guess the "butthurt card" is like the "race card" or something. Overplayed.
cue the response I've made about 5 times already.

As for the ARod circus; another Hall of Fame 3B admits to using amphetamines.

Plus I mean.. the Phillies rotation has question marks, but so do the Mets. After Santana (much like after Cole) you have Pelfrey (good 2nd half last year, can be solid) Maine (coming off surgery) Perez (good upside, tends to struggle) and someone from AAA. Not exactly a great rotation, either.

And I think everyone agrees Delgado won't put up the same numbers he did last year. Which leaves a LOT of pressure on Santana/Wright/Reyes/Beltran to carry the load. If any of them have a bad year, it's gonna be rough times.
I definitely agree, I don't see the Mets as being as talented as everyone thinks. Delgado can't do it forever, and even Beltran isn't getting any younger, he turns 32 in April and could be losing some power. I picked the Mets for the WC because no one else really jumped out at me as being that strong (sorry Milwaukee and Manny-less LA) and with Wright and Reyes in town, they'll always be a good ballclub.

Also, Aki and fren, tl;dr. Is this all about AJ Burnett? Really?

Yeah. I suppose I should just stop because clearly neither of us are going to win. My only point was I thought 90mil was way too much to pay Burnett, so he responds with the Braves being the second highest to bid on him. I'm still not sure what the fuck that has to do with me thinking Burnett getting 90mil is too much. It's not like I'm in Atlanta's front office making our decisions and suggesting to pay 82mil+ to a guy who's had elbow surgery before.

Also, one thing. How is it a tacky response to say a non-All Star doesn't deserve 90mil? I mean.. some of the baseball contracts that people get nowadays are just ridiculous. Also, quit bringing up the Braves were 2nd in line for him, lol. That, once again, has nothing to do with me. Just because I may like the Braves, the fact that they wanted to pay an absurd amount for the guy has jackshit to do with me. They were stupid too.

Yeah all about Burnett. Sorry I brought it up to begin with lol. But seeing that guy pitch for three years and suck for like 3/4s of his time here will do that to ya lol.

I guess Jose Contreras is 3 months ahead of schedule in his achilles rehab, and could break camp with the team instead of being a post-all star break possibility, he's also lost around 35-40 pounds from last season

He snapped his achilles against the sawx last year trying to field a groundball and landed wrong while getting to first base, i believe he blew it out in august and it's generally a full year recovery for that type of injury but to break camp in march would be amazing, as he still has really good stuff and ability

I don't feel so worried about a Danks/Buehrle/Floyd/Contreras 1-4, and Colon/Marquez/Richard for the 5th spot, and I think our lineup is just as good as any in the AL Central (Quentin, Ramirez, Konerko, Dye, Thome, plus we should be increasing our team speed at 3rd, CF, 2B compared to last year

AL central is definitely up for grabs this year, one of the weaker years for this division. I'm really excited for 2010 though, with Poreda, Viciedo (if he doesn't already beat Fields for the 3B job this year) and Beckham probably breaking spring camp with the team

He'll probably strike out 300 times. But hey, he will probably hit 25-30 homeruns!

We really have no depth in 2009 at 3B. Fields and Betemit (From the Swisher trade)

2010 is the year the White Sox should definitely be a strong favorite for the AL Central, not that they can't win the division this year but next year should be a big year for us

Haha, how the fuck did I forget Betemit.

6BB/56K last year, there was serious talk amongst Yankee fans (see; douchebags) about him replacing ARod after he opted out.

He calls himself a switch hitter.

Look at his lefty/righty splits. ANY MLB PLAYER could put up splits from both sides of the plate as he does. He needs to stick to hitting left-handed

It's retarded, he could probably find a starting job somewhere if he concentrated batting lefty full time (.799 OPS, could probably hover around .815ish) compared to .636 as a RHH, which is fucking horrendous.

Well we're only using him as a defensive bench guy, there's no way he'd be starting barring any injuries to fields (or Viciedo)

Hawk Harellson must be crushed. The man has talked about how Joe Crede is the best 3B in all of baseball (lol). Now the White Sox aren't just minus Crede, they're basically minus a 3B.

Ok, I will preface this by saying the Ken Griffey Jr. would probably be the legit clean HR king if he didn't get injured so much, and he was an incredible talent.... before he was 40.

Is Seattle nuts? Places reporting that he just signed a 2 year deal back with his old team. I mean granted, Seattle can't do much worse than last year.. but signing old talent back can't be the solution.

He's actually 39. But yeah. I'm so fucking stoked right now, you wouldn't believe. Maybe we can get an aging (though younger) Garrett Anderson for our shitty outfield now instead of an aging hitter who plays about 80-90 games, and bats .250. Wee.

Not saying that Garrett Anderson is actually worth the money, by the way. Just saying.. there's not much left out there.
