Of course, but he was their #1 going into the year. Anyhow you look at it, it's a big blow.

Arod 4-4 4RBI. Why did he roid up in Texas? dude fucking mashes in this stadium (.330 career average prior to today)

Uh.. Kazmir was their #1? I could have sworn that Shields was the #1 pitcher overall, with Kazmir at #2 and Garza at #3.

5-5 Arod tore up on Rangers pitching today. Hopefully this is a sign he has his timing back down and he'll continue to hit well on this road stretch. Not expecting him to be perfect in every at bat, but hotter hitter Arod is, better pitches Tex is going to be seeing. 11-0 in the 8th, time to start up a new streak.

Could have to do with the horrible pitching going on too. I mean.. Swisher, who's been 4-32 his last bit of games even had a good day.

No, I'm not raining on anyone's parade. Yankees tore it up today. I got to watch it as it was on MLB-N today.

Wow. That's a really tough break for the Rays. I thought it'd be maybe 6-8 week sort of thing, but his knee clearly got fucked up.

Yea pitching for the Rangers has been horrid today, but the Rangers are still a 26-17 team in first of their dividion (granted it is the AL west) so it's not as if they Yankees are playing a horrible team. People said the same thing about pitching the game Wang got tore up too. Even with bad pitching still have to hit the ball and not pop up. As for Swisher, he was still only like 1-5 with 3 RBIs. He hit a couple of sac flies so I wouldn't say he's having a good day exactly, just not horrible.

Well, I wasn't saying the Rangers have had horrible pitching all year. I meant today, the guy was clearly off starting in the first inning, so he got lit up. Though the Rangers are notorious for not having much of a rotation in that ballpark, their pitching has been performing pretty well all year. I believe a stat that the YES Network team gave was they were the last team to get their bullpen to 100 IP or something.

Eh? He's most definitely their #1.

Hughes got yanked with a shutout after 8. At 101 pitches, I hate Girardi.

I think it's a good assumption the Rays are becoming screwed each day further and further. I doubt they will have a huge impact this year like last year, but I still don't count them out completely. Kazmir I would say is definetly their #1 starter though.

Odd. I I always looked at James Shields as being their #1 mainly because his year counting this year and last just seemed so much better than Kazmir's. Maybe not. Hrm. Oh well.

Maybe it's just me, but after the post season last year, I thought Garza was their number one pitcher lol. He pitched awesome, and almost had a no-hitter this year too. I think he's the best pitcher on the team. Kaz has the best stuff, but he tries to strike out everyone and doesn't go deep into games. Shields is solid too, but I think of him as a number 2.

Regardless, they do have a deep pitching staff..

Yeah. If a pitching staff can make you think that three of their starters are capable of being the #1, then you know they have a good pitching staff.

Breaking news: Joe Mauer is a beast.

I am excited about Price. I like how he pitched last year in the post season and think he has a good career ahead of him. My bosses wife actually is friends with Price's gf's (as of last fall, dont know if they are still together) mother so he's been hounding his wife to try to get me and him a chance to meet Price lol.

What in God's name happened to Mauer while he was recovering? I've never seen anything like it, he's got 11 home runs in 81 at-bats. That's Bonds-esque from a guy whose previous career high was 13 in over 500 at-bats.

Wow, Tampa after getting a strong start from Price...

Up 6 going into the 9th inning, and the Rays bullpen combines to give up 7 runs to the Indians to blow the game. Amazing.

If so, the AL East is becoming a 2 team race real fast.
