I haven't been to either. I wish I have. I'm sure the new stadium is beautiful, comfortable, and I know the clubhouses are amazing. But for all the amenities the stadium has, it's deeply flawed. I don't know how you build a ballpark, but from the outside it looks like they tore down a historic landmark and built a funhouse.

Burnett brought that Yankee Stadium wind with him to Boston. Did you see that ball Ortiz hit into center? C'mon, it's Ortiz in 2009. There had to be something else going on to get that ball out.

I'm also giving kudos to the Mets giving Santana the swing away sign 0-2.

Who decided it isn't correctable, anyway. The old Stadium hasn't even been torn down yet, and they can't make changes to the ballpark midseason. I'm sure they'll either work on closing off the open windows upstairs, or move the walls back in the offseason. I wouldn't call something like that "deeply flawed". Unintended, yes. Weird, yes. But a lot of parks play small, and it doesn't change anything. The wall is the same distance for both teams. There's no special advantage for the Yanks.

Well the Yankees his more home runs than any other team in baseball and have a chance to break the record for most home runs by a team in a season and they get to play 82 games there, so yeah, I'd say it gives them an advantage.

I'm sure they'll try a variety of things to cut down on home runs whether it's some sort of wind breaking wall or the Coors Field Humidor trick, but I maintain it's a big flaw for the price tag.

Were you complaining when the Phillies hit 4 in a game there and beat the Yanks 2/3 (should have been a sweep, really)? Like I said, it works both ways. Unless hitting the most HRs in a year gives you some kind of playoff advantage I'm unaware of, it doesn't mean anything. Everyone knows pitching wins games.

A lot of HRs the Yankees have hit there have not been cheap, either. Tex has flirted with the 3rd deck 3 or 4 times now. 8 of Swisher's HRs have come away from YS. We know how far A-rod's HRs travel. Just saying, this isn't the Padres hitting these HRs, theres already a lot of power in the lineup.

Also as we're talking about this, I think about 6 HRs have been hit in the Phillies/Mets game that Johan started... lol

EDIT: Make that 7. More than YS has given up this year! Must be that New York jet stream!

Is it bad that I love seeing Santana getting shelled because it will help Matt Cain get looked out for Cy Young consideration?

Utley, Ibanez, Howard, and Rollins have all homered off Santana tonight. Beltran, Church, and Wright have all hit home runs for the Mets. They're making Citi Field look small tonight. Santana got taken out in the top of the 8th with only 91 pitches thrown and he is pissed. It's a tight game.

Santana has been amazing up until his last few starts, and he's always been prone to the longball. Everrrrrrrrybody comes back to the mean eventually.

The Mets have the Phillies number lately. Good game time. Bummer. My ire for the Mets has really taken a severe dive this year even though my friends who like the Mets refuse to acknowledge the Phillies as defending champions. I was told my in April that my celebration period was over. lol.

Whatever the Yankees decided to play tonight it wasn't baseball. Haven't seen them that dead all year. Does Boston have their number or what? I doubt Wang does the job tomorrow, I look to CC to save us from 0-8...

Not comforting lol... maybe the Yanks learned from the 07 Indians/Yanks series and the 08 Angels/Sox series and are trying to reverse jinx themselves by losing every game... lol
