Or perhaps another one pretty blatantly obvious, but frequently over looked. Kurt Fucking Schilling. Guy goes from a decent 15 win per season guy his entire career then in his MID 30's starts belting out 20+ win seasons and becomes a hall of fame caliber pitcher? My ass.

Yeah, and let's not forget Jamie Moyer. Fuck that guy for winning past the age of 40. He must be on HGH too, amirite?

That's bullshit logic if I've ever heard it from the poster above. Just because you hit your mid-30s as a pitcher, it doesn't mean you can't pitch great.

Not to mention that his numbers were generally around the same. And he played for some mediocre phils teams during that time.

Surely his win totally going up had nothing to do with being on better overall teams. No, I doubt that had anything to do with it. /rolleyes

Also, if Schilling makes the HoF it would be because of his post-season performance. Last time I checked, he was co-MVP of a World Series before you claim he started using PEDs. Keep accusing people wildly. It happens every few pages here, so why stop the tradition now?

Schilling injected PEDs into his ankles. For the playoffs, he had to up the dosage, hence the bloody sock.

Curt Schilling is a terrible argument for PEDs. He was a consistent solid starter, had career years in his mid 30s, and saw his whip rise and strikeouts drop as he closed in on 40. Really no case for steroids there.

Yankees trade Vera for cash considerations today. First smart move Cashman has made to improve the bullpen in a while.

And by "cash considerations" they mean "a bag of balls and a Labron James jersey"

God I can't wait for Baseball tonight (shit I'm at work I'm going to miss it) to see the Twins commit two errors allowing Jason slow-ass Kendall to hit a game-tying double that turned into a game-winning 2-error assisted inside-the-park home run. Finally we broke that losing streak. That plus the Cards and Cubs and Reds all lost. Making up ground baby.

So who would've thought that closing in on July that the Giants would have the second best record in the National League and be tied for the fourth best overall in baseball? We have a horrible manager, horrible pitching coach, horrible hitting coach, horrible GM, an embarrassing lineup, and yet we still manage to win games; I'm pleasantly surprised so far.

    Baseball tonight? what's that?

Guess you don't have MLBN? shame, no baseball fan should be without that shit.

    7/28 6.2 innings 124 pitches
    8/13 7 innings 114 pitches
    8/18 9 innings 130 pitches
    8/31 9 innings 117 pitches
    9/10 7 innings 113 pitches
    9/28 9 innings 122 pitches

The guy is no stranger to throwing a lot of pitches. In fact, he never threw less than 91 pitches all of last year. Seems awfully convenient for him to blame that on the manager, if that's what he was doing.
Those were during the latter part of the year when he built up arm strength and it was no issue. Girardi had him go 119+ three times before June 20th. Sabathia said his innings totals while with Cleveland were easy to burden because they kept him to a relatively average pitch count during most of his starts.
