Registering/Updating new Credit Card issue, getting errors...

So yesterday my new Bank/Credit card came in (I had the bank change my CC#, etc. due to a lost card).

Anyways, Its a VISA/DEBIT stamped card with the "Eagle" foil on it or whatever, and has the CCV code thing on the back. Its worked fine for FFXI/Playonline, till now.

I have 3 accounts that I need to update with this card, to pay for them. But the issue is that I keep encountering this error upon trying to register it.

When I attempt to use this card on any of these accounts, I get the above errors.

So I called my bank, they verified everything was clear, no problems on my banks end. Card was working, I even wen't online and ordered something online and at the gas station just to make sure the card worked.

SOOO. After at that, I call SE as my last resort. Guy on the phone says that I should wait 60min (1 hour) in between trying to have the authentication server reset itself.

So I did that, actually made it two hours just to make sure. No cigar, same errors.

Not wanting to call SE back since I know they'll just say "We can't do shit, sorry sir.". I decided to go to Walgreens and pick up a Debit/Visa Pre-Paid card from there, threw about $120.00 on it and wen't home with it.

Activated the bad boy, typed all the information in POL on one of the accounts. And what do you know, IT WORKS..

But my happyness ends there, I go to account #2 to update the billing information/credit card on file. Same error strikes me again.

So I wait 2 hours... again.

Same thing.

Someone, please. For the love of mithras, please halp.

wait til tomorrow, ill put money on you messed up typing your info the first time and the card is locked until tomorrow.

Well on the first card yeah, that might be a possibility. But why would the second card I got at Walgreens work on one account, and then go back to doing this again on another. I made sure 100% that time around my spelling and everything was perfect

After much searching, it seems you might be right somewhat.

A credit card # is locked out from SE's systems temporarily after it is used.

You must wait like 24-48 hours after reactivating the account before activating the next.

It's something SE does to combat RMT, nothings wrong with your card, you just have to wait.

I had the same problem. You need to wait a day or two to let your Credit Card "cooldown."

The wait of 24-48 hours is correct and has been said by a SE rep when I called last time this happened. It is to combat RMT; perhaps it's a little annoying that they're doing this but meh. Like now and then, it's my fault because I was too lazy to add funds to my prepaid card.

Typical that the rep didn't fucking have a clue when I called. Shitty support is shitty. First time in my life I can say Alla helped me out.

Yea I'll confirm. I had the same problem. After JP Midnight I was able to register a second account. Waited another day for the third account and so on. And just like you, SE Rep said I shouldn't be getting that error Would be nice if a warning was put somewhere, or displayed so we wouldn't go crazy trying to figure out why it won't go through =(.

Serious, alot of headache and paranoia (especially dealing with my credit card/bank) could of easily been resolved if SE had posted a notice like this in their KB of their Support section @ Playonline.com
