Changing Monster Temperments

At the moment, my light elemental is Lv50 and "extrememly tame and extremely aggressive." I wanted to change him to "extremely defensive," so I made him the champ and spammed "Guard! Block! Parry! Hold!" for about 15 matches in a row, but when I checked back at the NPC, my elemental was still "extrememly aggressive."

Has anyone come up with how to effectively change your monster's temperments? It doesn't seem like simply spamming is the answer.

That's really the only way to do it, though i'm not sure about doing it while your pet is the champ. I found that it would occasionally take up to 20 matches to get my pets temperment to change one notch in the right direction, then after that it was sort of a snowball effect where it went much faster.

Hmmm. Maybe it does have to do with completing individual matches. Thanks. I'll try that.
