Because if the raving "lunatic" has mental health issues, i rather they not die, because some people feel that anyone resisting arrest is some evil druggie. As for alternatives, i never said that banning tasers was what i wanted outright, but you failed to read that, or perhaps it isn't beneficial for you to read it. I would be satisfied with the banning of the use tasers on the elderly and the young bar them having weapons in their possessions, and on the banning of the use of tasers on the restrained.
