One-month trial question

I've bought my own copy of FFXI! :D

It comes with a 30-day free trial, which I'm using in March to play through spring break!

Here's the question: if I cancel my account before the trial is over, will I be charged for the month of April? Will my character be deleted because I've not had a paid month, or will she be OK to use when I start paying $13/mo in May?

You shouldn't be charged for April, but I would keep an eye on the POL Registration Maint. posts. Sometimes they do it a day or two early. Your character won't be deleted. IIRC, you have 12 months before SE deletes them from their servers.
