get every sub ! everything is situationnal in this game, a carby pull can be needed in some limbus for exemple...etc. Shinning ruby is also an extra bonus to have~
Of course if you plan to do xp only, no need.

There are a couple of nice things about being a taru whm. For example, you don't have to purchase Astral Rings (in fact, don't).

I have a taru whm character that I play sometimes and the thing that pisses me off the most is when I see nontaru whm with less hp than me. Bomb queen ring and a gigant mantle FTW.

You don't. I have /SMN, /BLM, /NIN, /SCH blah blah blah and you will never, ever use /SMN again if you can possibly help it. /SCH just blows away /SMN. I'm a team player, and honestly I absolutely refuse to sub SMN in Limbus anymore unless we have a weird setup. I'd rather go SCH, BRD or BLM and crowd control that way.

And with BRD, SMN, WHM's repose, BLM you can cover every situation I can think of in 2.5 years of Limbus that would ever require you to carby pull. Carby pull elsewhere - maybe.

And if you're levelling a SJ for one assault, honestly, just get to know more people in the game. Or level SMN and do it properly.

Now to get the /BLM slackers to level /SCH.

Carby pull is useful for small-man runs in Temenos North, C2, and C3. Sure you can Sleep stuff instead in most cases, but if you don't have BLM or SCH, pet pull is going to be safer.

Despite my above comment, I have to admit that I almost always preferred /BLM to /SMN even before there was a /SCH. I always felt like, particularly in short battles (think most sky/sea farming), the Conserve MP from /BLM actually leveled the MP field to the point that it simply wasn't worth losing the arsenal of BLM spells.

At this point, maybe WHM/SMN is more like RDM/WAR than RDM/DRK. Your ls probably won't even need it, but if it ever does...wouldn't it be nice if you're the one who can offer it?

The basic benefit: flexibility. (Of course, the same argument could be used for WHM/RNG, couldn't it?)

you get the teles with outpost missions, yes. when your nation owns the area you can run a mission of supplies to it to get the warp. its a good habit to check every sunday after conquest tally (jp midnight) and see what areas your nation owns that you don't have the teles to yet, because sometimes your nation will only own something once every several months.

I spent a whole day in Bastok Markets selling copper ingots. I made lots of gil :D I think I was making ~10k/hr. Or maybe ~5k/hr. Something like that.
A friend canceled his account and gave me 20k :D
I re-activated my account a week ago (I couldn't wait until March! I missed my Talka too much!) and took up fishing! I fished some moat carp this week and made like 12 k with it! I've got 3 stacks of carp at the Sandy auction house right now. ^_^

So far, I've only bought the Baron's Slops, Silver Hairpin +1, Mohbwa Sash, and Yew Wand +1

I'm going to spend a few weeks crafting and fishing so I can get all the gear I want.

I ran up the costs... it'll be 176,000 gil

I also got the pilgrim's wand and my ls leader helped me get the mycophile cuffs! :D

I've still got to get the whole Seer'S set and the mohbwa sash and a few other things. D:

I think after looking at your list my only suggestion would be Trump Crown over Silver Hairpin +1. The price of that thing has dropped drastically on the 2 servers I have characters on, 5-8k generally. It's both 14 HP and MP at 20 with 10 defense rather than 16 MP, loss of HP, and no defense. Plus the HP/MP go up at certain levels, great head in my opinion.

I am really glad to hear a new(ish) player caring so much about his gear ^^ And that gear will carry you through a lot of low level jobs so it's totally worth it... I still have my baron's saio, so hard to sell it XD

This player's attitude towards getting good gear, asking for advice, and coming back to let us know how things have been going is encouraging, compared to the new player stereotype. :D

OP: Mycophile Cuffs are really great, you'll definitely notice the Enmity- at that level. Check out the Crow Jupon Set when you hit 50 for more Enmity- swap gear.

Mohbwha to Qiqirn Sash (+1) at 40 is another fairly inexpensive and worthwhile upgrade.
