Dinged 27 WHM, got Protectra II :D
I got Invisible at lvl 25 and I've been running through towns saying "I am a ghost!" o.o

Got Seer's Tunic and Seer's Slops today (didn't have enough gil for the +1 versions).

Mohbwa+1, trump crown, etc. still *not* mine, so MOAR FISHING!

    Also... Kazham is AWESOME!

    I like these earrings:

    Energy Earring - Bahamut - FFXIAH.com

...or you can go to to these at 31:

    Aura Earring - Bahamut - FFXIAH.com

Since you're a taru, something focused on stats might be of more interest. I'm Elvaan, and I need MP to function.

Also, /SCH is AMAZING for leveling up. Under the effects of Light arts, all your magic skills are automatically B(+?). You'll land enfeebles better than an unskilled RDM and your cures will always be capped. Your skillups will be better, too. I'm leveling my WHM now (25) and I can't emphasize the awesomeness of /SCH post-20 enough.

SCH is an advanced job, so he can't unlock that til he hits 30 on his first job. But it does indeed complement WHM very well. If you can unlock it once you hit 30, it's definitely worth leveling for sub. It also plays quite similarly up to 40, so you won't have to learn a new role for parties.

OP: Mycophile Cuffs are really great, you'll definitely notice the Enmity- at that level. Check out the Crow Jupon Set when you hit 50 for more Enmity- swap gear.

Mohbwha to Qiqirn Sash (+1) at 40 is another fairly inexpensive and worthwhile upgrade.

What's more impressive is that people are constantly helping him. That says a lot about the BG stereotype as well ^^

Well, Standard Discussion is supposed to be helpful, so it's nice to see this.

OP: In regards to SCH sub, it's a great thing for White Mage. Make sure to level it up as soon as you can, since you should be able to re-use WHM gear for Light Arts mode.

It makes me smile hearing from someone hitting Kazham for the first time. This thread just makes me happy, in general.

Yes unlock SCH and level it as a sub, I would suggest fishing instead of goldsmithing.

You unlock the tele's to the Outposts by doing the supply quests, yes.

To be honest, I never felt comfortable giving up the SH when leveling until near the end. I'd try Rapparee at every new level, and still wouldn't be happy with my accuracy.

But yeah, new gear is part of what makes leveling fun; I never understood "gimp it to 75". Level Sync has taken a bit out of that, unfortunately, but I think making it so much easier to get parties is worth it.

    I had a thought:

Instead of starting to level Goldsmithing, think about leveling Clothcraft for the moment.

    Reasons why:

    1. Later on down the road, you will want to have leveled Clothcraft to at least 60 anyway as a subcraft for Goldsmithing.

    2. (I think, at least by your signature) You are a resident of Windurst. The clothcraft guild is also in Windurst.

3.) Its relatively cheap to level clothcraft in the early stages. You can farm alot of the items. Also, while farming, you can level some of your support jobs (i.e. Rdm, Blm, and Thf for increased drops). While farming you can also accumulate many other items which you can sell either on the AH or to an NPC. And you also get a good amount of Beastmen Seals which can be used later.

4.) You can sign (and HQ sign the closer you get to level 60 Clothcraft) some of the other gear on your list. i.e. Baron's gear, Seer's gear.

Just a thought, really. Take it as you will.

Good luck with everything and enjoy the game

    Woo-hoo!

    (I'm on Ifrit)

I'll definitely try clothcraft! I'll start looking for profitable or semi-wallet-friendly recipes to level on (fingers crossed!). If the first few levels are gil-killers, I've got a guide for fishing $$ (level 11-66 w00t) already made out so I'll be doing that! :D

    You guys are awesome!

Ok my month trial ran out, but I'll be back in May! And when I get back, I'm gonna work a bit on MNK and WAR.
    I've started picking out gear.

Any Iffrit people who want to pt (when I get back in 6 weeks ; ; ) please let me know! I've been told I do great as WHM.

:O that reminds me, I saw my LS leader Celly playing a Dynamis run as WHM. Hooooleeeeee CRAP that was AWESOME!

    Which is the best one?

I'm tempted to say the Republic Knuckles are the best because of the DPS (1.71) but the +10 accuracy on the Tropical Punches (DPS 1.0) looks tasty.

As a WHM, I would have just used pilgrim's wand until level 51 (light/dark staff) but yew wand +1 is good too.

Your gear looks good, hope to see you continue enjoying the game as you grind

I actually really enjoyed reading this thread. In all honesty it reminded me of the enthusiasm I had when I first started... as a whm back in 2003 and had NO idea what to do really, and thought I was rich selling a stack of fire crystals in sandy for 1K!!!

Anyways, wish there was more enthusiasm for the little things in this game, like there was years ago.
