I'd stick with the Talisman cape. While MND has it's uses for enfeebles and stoneskin, it isn't going to have a huge effect on your cures at your level whereas -enmity is going to affect everything you do. (Once you get Cure V though it is a different matter.) There isn't a lot of -enmity gear available at low levels. I don't remember having a lot of trouble managing my hate when I leveled WHM, however, except for when I needed to get spammy with Cure III.

Unfortunately, this isn't quite one of those "sh#t is situational" moments (ie make a macro for when you need MND gear and a macro for -enmity gear) as you will lose the enchantment when you unequip the Talisman cape, so you will need to full time it/

Heavens Tower is AMAZING. I dunno what it is about that place, but I got shivers when I went up the staircase... until the lady-in-waiting called me a slimy scally-wally wag! That was a bit of a mood killer, but I'll show her I'm not a slimy scally-wally wag!

It's not the case in many other places, but they did a great job with Heavens Tower content outside of the cutscenes, too. Make sure you talk to all the NPCs there every time you advance in the storyline. The people there will change what they say to you (and I mean almost every single NPC past the stairs gets new dialogue, reminds me of Earthbound.)

There's a lot of added value to the Windurst storyline which comes from these "normal" NPCs, and it's interesting to see how they think differently of you over time. Have fun!

Interesting, does that apply for Bio/Apollo's as well? And does that only occur when using the HQ staff?

Yea, with the elemental DOT's, just auto-sort your magic, and then the ones that stack are always separated by another spell: ie,
1 Burn
2 Frost
3 Choke
4 Rasp
5 Shock
6 Drown

That is the order in the spell list (if I remember right) so your stackable spells are all related: Odds stack with each other, and Evens stack with each other. Hence, if you cast manually through the spell menu, just start with eitehr Burn, then just cast every other one after that, or start with Frost, and do the same.

BTW, holy crap Scholar is amazing. I can solo decent challenge mobs with it!
It's got everything I wanted to do. I wanted to solo WHM and BLM but found it impossible to do. SCH, for some reason, kicks ass by comparison. And it's got so much mp conservation... woah! Like, I tried it as a sub in a party last night, and with refresh from fields of valor, I held at a steady 200-240 mp for two hours. O.O

I used Light Arts --> Penury
If I immediately switch to Dark Arts --> Parsimony ... does that work? I didn't try it last night, and I'm not playing during finals week so I won't have a chance to test it for a bit.

Also, I had my first pt at Garliage Citadel a couple weeks ago. For some reason, I thought "citadel" meant "nice city."

an alternative farming or crafting is doing repeatable quests. i cant tell you how many times i rode the khazam airship back and forth, doing that silly quest for 500 gil (a discerning eye). paid 200gil once to get into the airship agency and went back and forth for hours while seeking and reading a book or watching tv/movies. took screenshots of the guy you have to memorize so i would never fail it too
looking back, it was a waste of time, and there are much better ways to make money.

I'm slowly moving away from noobiness. Still loving the game. ^^ I hit 39 sch last night, and 38 whm a couple of days before. Still looking for pimped out gear, of course. I'll be getting a Qiqirn Sash +1 next week!
