i hope so to....hes just not that good ...never has been or will be...dont know what were gonna do
[Friend]
Mel I can't believe your dissing our QB
[Dumbass]
no bigger fan than me....but i have to call it as i see it
never been a fan of romo.....i mean theres a reason he wasnt drafted..im pullin for him...just dont think he'll git r done...but i'll be watchin from my new seat at the stadium
i hope iv been lucky and no one has been in it
[Dumbass]
if some one can tell me one thing he does good....because i can tell u a bunch of things he doesnt....
but will see
[Me]
#5 last season in passing yards per game, #6 TDs thrown, #8 QB rating, #12 total passing yards -- he's far from a scrub, plus he put those numbers up while injured last half of the season. And before you say he throws too many INTs the following people threw more than him: Favre, Cutler, Brees, and Super Bowl Champ Big Ben.
Also just for reference, in 2007 he was #3 in total passing yards, #3 yards per game, #2 TDs (behind Brady), and #5 QB rating.
Yep, never done anything well. We'll just judge him on a fumbled snap in 2006 playoffs, a dropped pass by Crayton in 2007 playoffs, and a mediocre end of season when he came off of injury.... Read More
Who else you want as QB? Vick?
[Dumbass]
i guess when your watching the game on tv it looks alot diff...
i see throwin into double and triple coverage all the time..
very seldom does he hit a reciever on the run...
thats why crayton slowed down he didnt know were the ball was goin to drop....he cant read defences...thats why he has to sramble around...hes just like farve, farve only won one super bowl...thats becuase dallas and san fran were on there way down.....theres only been one undrafted q.b. to win the bowl.....so odds are against him.....and no i dont want vick...i want us to draft a stud like big ben or cutler ...i dont recall aikman puttin up big stats....only superbowls.....
romo is a sandlot player at best....hes never won a big game... Read More
like i said theres a reason he wasnt drafted...hell he couldnt even have a winning record in division 1aa......and the only stat that matters is at the end of the year if u won the big game or not...
plus he doesnt have a winners mind set....remember if he never wins another game
[Dumbass]
tan he has had a pretty good life....i bet jerry wish he could have redone his contract after that comment...never heard
bradshaw, montanna, aikman or brady say something like that...so if ur goin to list q.b. at least name more than 2
[Friend]
But you have to remember that romo was actually 2 plays away from winning playoff games the fumbled snap and craytons drops. What would everyone be saying about romo if those 2 plays were successful? Both plays were not his fault.
[Dumbass]
no thats 2 minutes out of the game...i blame for the other 58
min...if you run your offence to the game plan...you usally dont have to come from behind....dont get me wrong i know he makes some plays...but its the ones he dont make that hurt us....he'll throw some touch downs...but he'll throw int....and i know every q.b. throws int..but its when ... Read Moreyou throw them...hell throw em in the 1,2,or 3 qurters not with the game on the line...thats another thing he doesnt protect the ball very well...i just ask for one thing he does well and still havent got an answer just excusses...i dont remember the q.b.'s i listed before ever fuckin up with a big game on the line..i guess he is worried about freqeunt flyer miles for his next trip to cancun.......
[Me]
Haha, Big Ben was a drafted stud? Please -- no one expected him to a difference maker much like Brady. Also his "explosion" is basically him just trying to not completely screw up a game (yet he threw more INT than Romo this past year AND won the Super Bowl despite that).
And all Aikman did was win Super Bowls? Really? Here are Aikman's first three years in the league (year/W-L/TD/INT):
1989 0 - 11 9 18... Read More
1990 7 - 8 11 18
1991 7 - 5 11 10
Total 14 - 24 31 46
And now Romo:
2006 6-4 19 13
2007 13-3 36 19
2008 8 - 5 26 14
Total 27 - 12 81 46
Aikman's Playoff Record in those years? 0-0 -- they NEVER made it to the playoffs.
It's a good thing we didn't get rid of Aikman based on those seasons were he never won a big game either.
[Me]
Another fun stat, since 2006 (Romo's first year), here are QB stats for TDs, INT, and TD/INT differential:
P. Manning 89 35 +54
Brady 74 20 +54
Brees 88 46 +42... Read More
Rivers 77 35 +42
McNabb 60 24 +36
Romo 81 46 +35
Warner 63 36 +27
E Manning 68 48 +20
Palmer 57 37 +20
Roethlisberger 67 49 +18
Favre 68 55 +13
Aikman's would've been 31, 46, and -15!
[Dumbass]
he also leads in fumbles too...and all those quterbacks got better from year to year...and big ben was a first round choice..unlike romo who has gotten worse....fact is he hasnt got better from year to year.....all i hear is excuses...and i dont care about those others...i want the cowboy q.b. to be better.....and all those stats still no playoff wins...which is all that really matters
[Me]
Again, Aikman in first three years, zero playoff wins -- he couldn't even get enough wins to MAKE the playoffs. He also lost his first playoff game.
Let's use another QB stud then, Peyton Manning, whom didn't get a playoff win until 2004 and entered the league in 1998. That's SIX YEARS.
And Romo getting worse? Really? 2006 and 2007 showed marked improvement in both stats and the W-L column. 2008 is *maybe* the only year you can try to shoot Romo down...even though he was injured and then came back off of injury, and he STILL put a winning record together and still kept consistent stats. Where is he getting worse?... Read More
For fumbles, I point to the O-Line, which has been horrid. Romo has been required to scramble and try to avoid pressure due to the gaping holes in the line. While on the subject of fumbles, Kurt Warner is by far the worse there and yet went to the Super Bowl and won playoff games despite that.
[Me]
You seem to be convinced Romo is the problem; however, the stats don't show it and history of other great QBs, including great Cowboys QBs doesn't show it either.
The Cowboys have many other issues stopping them from winning. The defense had huge lapses (ex: allowing 2 huge runs from BAL FBs for a loss). The running game has also been non-... Read Moreexistent down the stretch of the season (O-Line doesn't help there either).
Romo is one of the few reasons the Cowboys have actually been in the thick of things the past three years, not the other way around.
[Dumbass]
romo is a huge problem...how many games has he won in dec..those huge runs came at the end of the game when our defence had been on the field for most of the game..our offence gave up more points than our deffence did....hell romo threw the int right before half that led to a field goal...remember he said it was like a punt..only it was 3rd down... Read More.....our runnin game was great last year...what about the steeler game...i geuss the offensive line threw that pass...and then what happened in the eagle game....he didnt even bother showin up...thats when he made that dumbass comment about if he never wins another game he has a pretty good life...to me thats slappin every ticket holder in the face...he hasnt ever let me say that again
HASNT EVER won a big game that matters....ever not in high school not in college not in the pros..and at 29 hes gonna start he got lucky goin 13-3 and i say lucky becuase we werent good enough to win a play off game...becuase we desided cancun would be alot more
[Dumbass]
fun than actully winning a football game...i agree he makes so plays..but at the end of the day its the ones he doesnt make that hurt us.....a q.b. needs to be the leader without a doubt no ques ask...and romo will never be a leader...when parcels left town he gave romo 10 rules to go by to be successful..and with end the first year he had broken every rule...i just call it as i see it....watch the game sober....and not just the e.s.p.n. highlights
[Me]
Rushing game was awesome huh? So that's why we were ranked 21st in the league in total yards and yards/game, and 22nd in rushing TDs.
I'm not basing my observations on "drunken game watches" or "ESPN highlights" -- I've brought actual statistical proof to back up what I'm saying and specific game examples.
Speaking of, that Ravens game you seem to remember oh so well. Who was the leader of the two drives that gave the Cowboys a fighting chance in that game?... Read More
Romo with an 8 play, 70 yd drive in 2:40 and a 11 play, 71 yard drive in 1:56.
And the defense gave him squat in return. I don't care how "tired" you are (with only a 5 minute T.O.P. differential at that...), you can stop a FB dive up the middle. BAL was just running out the clock.
That isn't Romo's fault. Unless you claim his two scoring drives were too fast (which would be insane).
Eagles game I can give you, but no one showed up, not just Romo. Romo also went back on his comments later. He realized he screwed up.
[Me]
Something else for ya regarding big games. The following is a list of Cowboys QBs that have won a game at Lambo Field:
Tony Romo
Yep that's it, but I guess regular season games don't count right?
[Dumbass]
in the ravens game last year after the first long run...we needed 2 first downs and we win we went 3 and out.... again he doesnt know how to win a big game...there are no big games in sept
[Me]
Forgive the triple post, but in looking for December performance stats as you requested, I found something very interesting:
Sacks by month ('06, '07, '09)
Sept: DNP, 6, 3
Oct: 4, 5, 4 (injured)... Read More
Nov: 4, 5, 1
Dec: 13, 6, 12
Passing attempts by month ('06, '07, '09)
Sept: DNP, 121, 139
Oct: 63, 118, 61 (injured)
Nov: 117, 143, 100
Dec: 157, 138, 150
So, when we decide to apparently abandon the running game in December our wonderful O-line allows Romo to be smacked around more than he had in the rest of the season combined.
However, if you'll notice 2007 breaks the trend. Both passing attempts and sacks on Romo stayed consistent. I guess it should be no surprise that 2007 was the season we went 13-3 and Romo went 2-2 in December. Every other December he was 1-3, when the entire offense leaned completely on him and the O-line allowed him to get drilled.
[Me]
Uh..what? In the Ravens game after the first long TD run by BAL, Romo immediately came back and led the 'Boys on a TD drive.
We were trailing after the first long TD run.
We went 4 and out (not 3 and out) after the 2nd TD run (still trailing, we needed to score). Also, interesting to note, our wonder O-linemen Flozell Adams had a false start to shoot the drive in the foot on first down.... Read More
You sure I'm watching the games drunk and only paying attention to the highlights?
You may want to jog your memory on that game: NFL Game Center: Play-by-Play - Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys - 2008 16
[Dumbass]
leaned on him please....all we needed was 2 first downs at the end of the game...when you continue to go three and out
it weres your defense down not just ours but everybodies...
like i said go to a game watch it sober yuoll see
[Me]
I did watch it sober, you clearly didn't. Again, please check out the play-by-play: NFL Game Center: Play-by-Play - Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys - 2008 16
We lost the game by more than a TD. Failing to get first downs at ANY point in the 4th had NOTHING to do with why we lost.
[Dumbass]
no it was all the 3 and out through out the course of the game
[Friend]
I don't watch every game sober but I don't remember anyone better since Aikman left at getting the team down the field! Do you remember the bledsoe days? I do and when Romo was made the starter he sparked the whole damn team. And remember you had TO bitchin on the sidelines all the time,so that could have played into a 3 & out series.
[Me]
Number of 3 and outs in the game: 4
Well, 5 if you want to count the drive we scored on in only 3 plays.
You really want to pin the loss on that small a number of 3 and outs?
[Dumbass]
like i said he has never won a big game ever EVER..... t.o. bitch about when he got the ball..romo constantley throws into double and triple coverage...not just to t.o. but also to witten.....i know were not gonna change each others mind...
but it is clear that he has never won a big game that matters
and the bottom line is a q.b. is judge on ... Read Moresuper bowl wins...but who knows the sun has to shine on a dogs ass some day so it might as well be romo....because we all remember he's had a good life..and hell during football season my week is determined on wether my boys win or not
becuase it really sucks watching other teams play in jan....
[Friend]
How long did it take peyton manning to win a big game? Or elway, favre or marino
[Me]
According to your definition Aikman won zero big games in his first 3 years as well. Yet you clearly think he is the type of QB Romo should be. Where is all the hate on him? Are you saying we should've ditched him after 3 years like you want to do to Romo?
Now, I know I'm not perfect on my football analysis, but dear God, this guy routes for the same team as me.
