After the Phillies won the world champ I thought those fans were the most annoying thing ever. But now, jesus christ, they can't get over themselves with the butthurt.

And of course he's going to try and do something to make up for it. Personally I love football. But I still disagree at how these guys make so much versus a doctor or something else useful. The statement stating he has the right to make a living I agree with, but the fact that this man murdered animals, served a small punishment, and still gets the chance to make millions of dollars bewilders me.
Miz already got to this...but just adding on. You can't murder animals, you can only murder humans. And he didn't get jail time for killing the dogs, he got it for dog fighting. Killing animals is not a crime, or hunters everywhere would be in jail. Hell I've probably killed more animals over my life than Vick has.

And about how much these guys make vs. doctors or something "useful"...how many doctors are in the world right now? How many NFL caliber athletes are there? Seems like being a doctor is a lot more common, and since athletes are in such a comparatively short supply, the money they make is completely justified. Unless you'd like to see a bunch of overweight middle aged men slouching around on the field making sloppy plays every football game instead of skilled athletes, I wouldn't bitch about how much they make.

Have to take into account how much some of these guys donate to charities as well. Yeah it might seem insignificant compared to what they're making, but it's still money going to good causes that otherwise wouldn't be there.

I think it's often overlooked how much pro athletes do for us personally as well. For a few hours every sunday during football season I get to forget all my troubles and immerse myself in their world. Those few hours of peace are priceless. Not to mention they sometimes inspire people to succeed when they would have otherwise given up.

    Palmer sprains ankle vs. Saints | Cincinnati.com | Cincinnati.Com

    Nothing to Palmer's injury really.

Minnesota Vikings receiver Berrian hurts leg in exhibition victory - TwinCities.com

Berrian though sounds like it's either not that serious, or they're trying to hide the depth of the injury. Hard to tell at this point.

Quick question - if I wanted to watch more than just the 2 network/national games, what options do I have?

DirecTV - any reviews from people that have it? Is it worth the dough? I'm a college undergrad w/ no income once school starts up again
Streaming - Did this a lot last year, but stream quality was terrible most of the time

    Is there any in-between?

If I had DirectTV on campus, I'd get NFL ticket. But alas, I don't even get NFL network on this campus cable like my old school had.

Detroit was 4-0 last preseason if I remember right. My dad has a shirt that says something to the effect of preseason champions. It goes right next to his rebuilding since 1952 or whatever year shirt

There used to be a cheaper version of sunday ticket, where you just had all the games on at the time on one screen in small views. It was called red zone, though, and apparently this year red zone is just going to be jumping between games showing the scoring plays, or some shit.

Gamecast is pretty good, nfl network with its constant replaying of games is nice.

Nothing even begins to compare to sunday ticket. At all. If you can afford it, it's absolutely worth it.

Oh, also Tyr, there was a deal last year where you could get all the games replayed in 30 minutes a piece for like <$100, get a dvr on that and you're golden. I'll see if it's still around this year.

    !

How good are the highlights? I actually don't want highlights, I want an abbreviated game. Highlights are only TDs/plays of 20+ yards, I like something like NFL Replay's game footage, where they take out a lot of stuff, but leave plays like an 8-yard run.
