TAMPA, FLORIDA (TICKER) —The Coast Guard has rescued one survivor after discovering the fishing boat carrying four passengers, including two NFL players, that went missing this past weekend in Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Nick Schuyler, a former football player at the University of South Florida, was found clinging to the side of the overturned boat, which was found Monday afternoon approximately 30 miles off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida.

The whereabouts of former Detroit Lions defensive end Corey Smith - currently a free agent - and Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, who both were on board the 21-foot vessel, still are unknown.

Yeah, they found a former USF player. Schuyler or something another, but no news on the other three so far. This is a sad story =[

    Edit: Beaten!

If you click the video interview with Dawkins and D. Gunn it gets pretty emotional.
I'm very upset he decided to leave...but I can't really blame the Eagles for not offering him a longer deal than 2 years. The guy's gettin old, he's got 2 years tops left in him. That being said...I wanted him to retire an Eagle probably as much as Green Bay fans wanted Farve to retire a Packer.

And that interview kinda made me sad.

Just listened to it myself. Some players really take it to heart. I wish more pro athletes cared that much.

"Family took precedence over the money.

With three children, Taylor, who has a home in the Miami area, opted not to agree to the workout provisions. The team was willing to keep his restructured salary at $8.5 million, but his desire to be with his family in the offseason was more important in his life."

    Good for him!

I wonder where Jason Taylor will go. His performance certainly had a huge drop-off.

Also, the Eagles are really trying to not bring back McNabb for sure now, what with everyone either getting traded/released.. them still not working to get a WR.

News isn't as big as Housh, but the Titans signed Nate Washington and Jovan Haye today too.

Well the Bengals better fucking get Ward and Benson then. They sat on their ass waiting for Housh when they should've just cut ties. Pricks.

He wanted a contender, but settled for money. Why he didn't pick the Vikings blows my mind.

And now there's reports that Coles is coming to Cincinnati. Why we drafted 3 WRs last year I'll never know.

Vikings still don't have a QB. Who would throw TJ the ball? AD can't do it all.

Sage is decent. It's not hard to throw 10 yards, which is where TJ will be every time.

Ah, right. Sage Rosenfail. I wonder if he'll be doing any helicopter runs in Vikingland.

    IMO more accurate.

Hasselbeck is certainly a lot better than Rosenfels as long as he stays healthy. The Seahawks now have Housh, Branch, and Burleson as their 1-2-3, pretty nice little set up. Too bad their run game is shot. I wonder if they will go after Crabtree seeing as Branch is older and injury prone, Burleson has been hurt often, and TJ himself is over 30. Who knows. Their division is horrible so we will see.
