The Browns are atleast putting effort, albeit a futile one, into getting "better" I think. The Bengals just don't give a fuck lol

Actually the Lions, Rams, Seahawks, Browns, and Bengals all helped make sure the 49ers were not the laughing stock this year or the past few years. They played exceptionally better once they put Hill in as the Starting QB and was one bad play away from a .500 record last year, despite all the fuckups at the beginning of the season. Were more like the definition of horrible Mediocrity for the past 3 years.

The seahawks have been really good the past few years...anyway, I get what you are saying, there are worse teams. Hell, I think I picked the Niners to make the playoffs at the beginning of the season. They have still been really bad and I think that Warner getting them over the proverbial hump, it'll enhance his legacy more than simply taking the Cardinals back to the playoffs, and even winning a game or two.

That's a big gamble, no? I would think consistently getting to the conference championship game and the possibility of getting back to the Superbowl (lolDonovan, even though Warner has a ring) is better on a resume then taking an even bigger gamble by potentially taking a terrible team to the playoffs. Let alone the 49ers. They have A LOT of holes that Warner can't fix by himself.

The center the Bills signed is really good. Geoff Hangartner played with us for the past 5 seasons? He can play Center and Tackle very well. You guys don't know it yet but you have a Pro Bowler on your hands.

Carolina tried their hardest to resign him, but our OL is just too good atm He will help you guys BIG TIME.

Singletary said he wanted the Niners to make a run for Vick. It'd be pimp if they got both and Warner lead the team to the playoffs while Vick settles back into his position.

Personally, I don't think the Vick is going to be allowed to play. Roger Goodell wants a pretty boy image, and the amount of negative attention Vick will be carrying will delay his reinstatement at least a season. (Unless I've missed something, I believe at this point he is still under full suspension with no set date for reinstatement.)

I'm of the opinion that Goodell never lets him on the field again.

I'm really starting to understand why people despise AJ Smith so much this season. The team hasn't touched free agency aside from considering bringing Drayton Florence back to the team, and now they're talking about trading Cromartie for a damn third round pick. I know he likes to bring in most of the talent from the draft, but come on, seriously? I just don't understand how a rational person would look to trade one of the better young corners in the league for a third rounder (I know he played like shit last year but still ).

Cromartie had one good season, and it was fueled by 2-3 games. He is just like DeAngelo Hall; he will make some beautiful plays, but he is AWFUL at single coverage, and the Chargers don't play zone often.

Trading Cromartie is smart unless he is just dirt cheap.

Also, the Chargers have PLENTY of talent on both sides; the FO doesn't need to make many moves, the players need to play better.

Edit - If the Bengals were smart, they would trade Palmer away for a ton of draft picks and just start over. After this year he is going to want out of there and they won't get nearly as much value.

Matt Wilhelm and Clinton Hart, right side of the Oline - all these spots/players just don't have quality talent on the roster. They haven't really indicated they were doing anything about these, aside from the possibility of moving Antoine Cason to FS to take Hart's job.

This is pretty much what they do every year, though. Smith and maybe Butler before him had the idea that you could build better through the draft than free agency, and they stick to it. It'd be nice if we could have more drafts like 2001 to prove it's working though

2 years, $23M with $6M guaranteed per year (less likely to cut him in 2010). Also willing to drop is 1M/year if they renegotiate Boldin (but fuck that right now).

Oddly, fans here have been turning on him for looking for more money; most don't seem to realize the 2 years, $20M is structured horribly for him. But once they see this...if the front office doesn't jump on this deal, the fans are going to be pissed. All 63 of us!
