A shame Torry Holt is old. How old is he now anyway? 34? 35? I can't remember.

    33. He's been good forever but he isn't that old. He and Isaac Bruce (now he's old) were like the Harrison+Wayne before they became Harrison+Wayne.

Neither were as good as Harrison was in his hayday though. Maybe it's because of the lack of QBs they had though. Not to say Bruce/Holt weren't good.. haha. I loved those guys. I just don't think either can be #1 WR again.

Hmm. That's tough. I think it'd be easier to say that Harrison/Wayne were better as a duo, but Holt in his prime was just as good as Harrison imo.

Bruce+Holt were key pieces to one of the most prolific offenses of all time, so it's hard to say that they aren't as good. Plus you have to factor in Peyton's arm and his inability to get hurt over the span of Harrison's career whereas Holt had to deal with a lot of shitty Rams teams in his prime.

Holt is better than mother-fuckin' Justin McCareins or Brandon Jones. It is a huge upgrade for the Titans if it were to happen. He is 4 years younger than TO also; Holt still has some left for a good team.

As Weltall stated, he would become the Titan's #1 receiver and probably 5-6 other teams #1 receiver.

I never really followed Nate Washington, not sure what type of WR he is.

I'm saying a "#1 WR" in terms of Moss, what T.O. was (and still is, minus his drop the ball issues) and other prime #1 WRs like Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, or Fitz/Boldin. Holt would probably be a #2 in comparison. I know Holt has great hands though. Didn't he make a video of how to catch a ball?

Your memory must not go farther back than 1 year. Holt was a beast just like those guys only 2 years back even when the Rams still blew ass. You can't blame him for his team having no threat, changing QB/RB every week, etc.

Year Age Tm Pos G GS Rec Yds Avg
    2007* 31 STL WR 16 16 93 1189 12.8

This is from only 2 seasons ago, and he was the fucking shit imo. He was a top 3-4 fantasy WR for like the last 6 years minus last year......and no WR, even Boldin/Fitz, would have good numbers on last year's Rams' team.

Edit - Nate Washington is a fast, vertical WR that can stretch the field and actually catch the long ball most of the time. He bailed out Big Ben all year, and he was better than Santonio Holmes for the entire season up until the AFC championship on.

Nate W. was a guy every one kept on his or her fantasy bench, and each week said, "SHIT, why didn't I start this guy today".

Agreed 100% I'd love to see Holt in TN if anywhere else other than Carolina, I want Collins to continue winning so Vince will get released or traded to the Failboys.

Imagine what Collins would do with a Pro Bowl caliber WR. All we heard for 2 years was Vince has no targets, Vince cant pass effectively because they have no weapons.... in steps Collins. Vince had that stout no joke defense and was the benificiary of many a game winning kicks by Rob Bironas.

Collins takes snaps, no more excuses suddenly. Funny how that works.

Collins took snaps and handed the ball to another 1,000 yard running back. You're acting like he stepped in and turned them into a passing team when they still ran the ball 90% of the time.

Either way, he got a new contract and Vince rode the pines. Win Win.

And you're acting like a 1,000 yd running back is anything special these days. All that indicates is a commitment to a running game. 1,000 yards over a 16 game season is something like 64 yards/game, which is very mundane.

The threat of the pass is what opens up the run game for the Titans with Collins behind center...it's fairly obvious even if you aren't a Titans fan.

Threat of the pass? During the regular season their passing attack wasn't so great. Hell, the Bills had more yards through the air than the Titans.

Yeah but still, you know with Vince under center his dumb ass is either going to scramble or toss a 4 yard screen pass. Collins does at least attempt at tossing it deep and the possibility of that is what has to keep you honest. You saw it when the Titans played the fucking Lions, they stacked 8 in the box when Vince was in and he looked like a noob all over again.

Cant run so he over threw his receivers, checking down in the flat to his RB etc... When Collins was in Johnson had what 3 separate runs for over 25 yards? They were forced into their nickel and base 4-3 defense so they had to respect the fact that Collins will throw it. I agree with the 1000 thing, LT rushed for 1200 or so and that was considered a failure season. I remember rushing for 2000 in a season was unheard of.

We can turn this into a pissing contest, the fact still remains Collins has a new contract, Vince is fighting for a job in the NFL and the Titans are obviously much better under Collins. Fischer, Adams and the Titan brass also seem to agree based on their commitment to a 40 year old coke headed old man.

Yes, with Collins at the helm and hopefully a great WR they'll be great again this year. Too bad they can't get TO. Balllllliiiiinnnnnnn!
