To be honest I'm not sure. I don't play a ton, and took a huge break when wotlk came out, just been playing in spare time recently... so I will check when I get home. It looks like the old pitbull I used back at 70 so I would assume 3 ??

Both Pitbull 3 and 4 are a nightmare to configure. Pitbull 4 I think throws in the additional complexity of pure LUA tag logic instead of Dog Tags for free!
Yeah, ag_unitframes for me. Does what I need it to, and pretty well. Seems like I'd be in Pitbull's config for hours since I'm such a perfectionist.
I loved ag_unitframes for a long time, but for whatever reason 3.2.0 broke them for me, where my target would wind up having my name, or the wrong name. I have yet to see a fix for it, and I got tired of constantly having to /reloadui to fix it, so I just swapped to Pitbull. :<
HALP
ok so basically bx menu fails and didn't have you put your background in a separate folder, so it did an update and deleted mine.
which is ok cause wanted to try something different anyways~
anywho I have a base set of kinda what I want but I need help thinking of a good way to have the center...
this is currently what I have:

I really want to keep those buttons in the center and I keep messing around with what shape I want, I wanna try something other than just another box but not sure. That oval takes up wayyyy too much space though.
note: none of the styles are in which is why it looks lame with the thick black borders. those are mostly for placement purposes to make it easier on photoshop. XD
any ideas on how to make the center look?![]()
Love my new resolution from my new screen I got today
Switching from 17 inch to 24 inch is a big deal.

@Ksandra - I think you really need to sort of get an idea of what kind of layout you're looking for.. maybe try to sketch it by hand on a paper to try to at least visualize what you're trying to do. Because at the moment it looks really messy.. on one hand you're using circles and ovals, and then there're squares it just looks really complicated. If you want to use squares then try to keep all the background panels along the same sequence, and align them properly so it doesn't look detached from each other. Also I'm not too hot about having the Unit Frames all over the place like that.
I'd also recommend getting the addon Align which basically helps alot with arranging your UI elements by providing an onscreen grid-guide. :]
@Seph - Nice! But do you really have to display your gold twice? '-'
I think you're trying WAY to hard to have a unique panel behind every thing in your UI, it makes it look a little too USS Enterprise and ultimately makes your UI very noisy. If you can manage, just try to create one continuous shape behind everything if you gotta have a background behind your buttons/chat/meters/map/etc
I remember really liking the layout I used to see posted by Kyth on E-J:
Spoiler: show
Forgetting all the timers/ORa2 stuff, I really liked the curved panels that just sat behind stuff transparently at the bottom. It just flows and doesn't create a lot of clutter while creating visual separation between chat/meters/clickables and the rest of what's happening on screen.
hmm well @ mirielle you are right about the unit frames I just kinda threw them down at the bottom for the time being, I still haven't figured how I want them, but as dps I like having them right in front of me since that's what I usually have to focus on the most.
about the detached part, as I stated the styles aren't in, I planned on placing borders that would connect with each other, but wanted to get the placement for all the pieces first.
@ correction, I can't have UIs like that. I can't read the writing when stuff is see-through so I always will want something behind it. I do like the design, and I see what you're saying about keeping it simple, but ya I have to have at least a background or it's gonna cause me more stress than it's worth putting my nose to the comp.
I'm trying to get at the point that strange shapes created between UI elements is what makes them noisy, and having an oval sit next to a circle sit next to a rectangle, all opaque, is creating those shapes. Instead, you can make one appealing-looking shape span all three elements. It won't have to be transparent.
Do what was suggested earlier and get your layout down on paper or MS Paint. Here's the basic structure of yours, unit frames notwithstanding:

Just move crap around until you're happy with it. Personally I'd move the clickables down considerably, have the panel behind it use the bottom of your screen as the lower edge. Hide recount out of combat. The Minimap is also teeny tiny and I question whether you're using it at all at that scale.
Just a few suggestions. Right now too much real estate is occupied by the big elliptical panel in the center.
Even creating a sense of symmetry would solve alot of the clutter feeling. make grid/chat the same size/shape, and recount/map areas same size/shape and you should have a better sense of organization. Maybe make the oval behind your buttons a bit smaller, so it just barely covers the edges of your button bars.
see that's the info I need, I did all the stuff in ms paint (the circles n' shit) and then brought it over to photoshop to do the alpha stuff. but ya I wanna figure out what to do with the center.
minimap I actually don't know how to make "bigger". I can scale it but it still only shows the same space. I use the basic minimap addon for that one, any suggestions?
You reminded me too, I had a question about recount. I got recount threat so I could get rid of omen, but the threat doesn't show my pet at all which is annoying. is there a way to change that?
i reactivated today and threw together this UI
Spoiler: show
anyone have any idea what that "armored man mover" button i have is? i cant get rid of it.
My first guess would be vehicle.
newp =/
edit: found it, its from sexymap.
After a bunch of recent tweaking:
Spoiler: show
The black background from Grid isn't normally there- just enabled it to show where the exact placement of the Grid area is.
I use Clique to heal, and I'm contemplating streamlining some of the buttons on the bottom- I can probably eliminate a whole row, honestly.
Pitbull, Dominoes, Chinchilla, SLDT, and a bunch of other stuff that if you really want to know, I'll tell 'ya.
