Yeah I just did some reading and it seems like you may have to create the group or some shit then assign that unit to it. I could have swore I tried that and party targets weren't an option to assign, but maybe not. Shit gets confusing after a while. Why on earth that wouldn't be a default I have no idea.

AGUF for self and target + Grid for group and raids for life! I tried Xperl for 10 minutes and hated it.

Yesterday I installed WoW for the first time in 4 years or so and I can't remember what UI's I used before. Does anyone have any good UI's for someone who wants to play casually and just get to know the game instead of going hardcore endgame or pvp. If it matters anything I'm playing a bloodelf paladin at the moment. The biggest pet peeves I noticed so far have been not being able to see on screen damage types and debuffs (I see that in screenshots all the time) and not knowing my position on the map/compass. All the questguides you find give locations in xx:yy. I also only have 12 buttons to put my stuff in and have 5 backpacks ("B" only opens the big one). The resolutions I play on are either 1680x1050 (pc) or 1440x900 (laptop).

A side question, my PC is "only" a AMD Athlon 3200+ (2.0 Ghz, I think) w/ mem: 1Gb, gfx: radeon x800xl, sfx: onboard. Would I be better off getting a couple more memory sticks or wait a little while playing on lowish settings and go for a newer PC (trying to wait for that till D3, heh)

I had an AMD 3000+ with 2 gb ram and 6800 gs video card, you will be fine till you hit 80 and start raiding, i was having 3-7 fps on 25man raids then i bought an ati 4850 and my fps went up to 12-15fps lol ><, i just finished upgrading rest of my pc, and is what i suggest to you if can afford it.

For a better buff/debuff view:
- Satrina's BuffBars
- Mik's Scrolling Battle Text
(Also, look into various UI compilations or unitframes for buff display on your target frame)

For map stuff:
- Chinchilla minimap
- Cartographer (the "old" version, not the version 3 bullcrap)

For the action bar and bags:
- Bartender4
- ButtonFacade (so Bartender won't look like feces)
- OneBag

It's up to you how you approach the problem, but you're not going to be functional with more than a few things going on with 1 gig of RAM.

Excuse the bad graphics. Recount hides when in combat. Party and raid frames are hidden. Cooldown bar is exactly above quartz casting bar and the swing speed bar. Still more of a work in progress but whatever.

Question: I have tiptac and am fairly good with fucking with my UI but there's one thing that's driving me fucking nuts. I can't figure out for the fucking life of me how to change the default icon border that come's up whenever I click on an item thats linked for me. Is there a specific add-on that will allow me to change it or do I have to find the default icon texture and change that?

Pretty sure you'd have to edit the LUA.

Mine has always been that way, guess I've never noticed to care though. But yeah, pretty sure your on your own with going through the process of editing the lua and core to do that.
