Hmm, a friend of mine has been getting some unexplainable d/c's recently. Do you get kicked to the introduction screen or does you crash to desktop? Maybe his problem is similar to yours, although I'm a little confused how someone elses mod can kick you offline (does it do a lot of /inspects or something?)

It floods you with a bunch of data sync requests assuming you also have the mod.

Recount gives me the same problem because it checks against other peoples' recount engines to ensure consistency.

Just get disconnected, no crash. To login screen.

And yes, gearscore spams the shit out of people with requests for gear data. Also things like recount syncing can do it, too. I can't even run recount at all in a meaningful raid these days even with syncing off because other people's spam my channel.

Would not running the addon yourself be any solution to the disconnection problem? If that's the case then I'll suggest it to my friend. I run gearscore and recount myself and never have problems with either. VERY rarely does my WoW crash to desktop with that big log dump and the ability to send it to blizzard. But I don't think thats related to this but rather to another application overwriting the memory address that WoW already had in use.

Yeah, I've stopped running any kind of meters in game and just use WOL live reporting to check my raid performance. I used to get disconnected all the time before.

There's gearscore breaker but that doesn't stop the spam, just sends false information back. And gearscore's author has already proofed against it. That addon spam one is the best you can do right now I think.

I sincerely doubt you'll want to turn off the addon broadcast stream entirely or you'll lose stuff like LibComHeal and PallyPower.

Even if you hide during combat? or just have it do your DPS?

A druid kept dcn' during Halls. I disabled gearscore just incase.

I never tried messing with its options really, but I'm an information nut so would be sad to lose the extra data

WOL gives me all of it with short HTTP bursts, a lot less intensive.

And hiding during combat I doubt would do anything, it's hidden, not unloaded.

I'd really need to see my DPS. Not being able to see it is like going outside and jogging (yogging) with no shoes on.

I can see it with WOL once the fight ends, which is really the only time I care about it. I'm too busy watching everything else to look at my dps on the fly

Use it in combination with an addon like Loggerhead to automatically turn on the clientside combat logging in raids and you can damn near automate the whole process.

not running it yourself will help, yes, because you won't be spamming peoples' channels every time you mouse over them

it won't stop others from spamming you, though

but like recount won't bug you if it checks once and sees you don't have it at least

Need a new mapmod that works with Gatherer. Cartographer v2 and v3 are both effectively dead as of 3.3 and Carbonite does more than I want it to.

I think I'll live without a map mod for now, it's just that gatherer nodes don't look that great on the default map size. I miss being able to zoom into a particular section of map is all.

Just hit 80 on my 2nd toon and need a good, solid grid type layout for healing. I'm playing a resto shammy as my main spec and nothing I've found is like I want it to be. Any ideas? I'd really like to have all of my stuff on the bottom of the window as well. Chat, bags, icons, mini map, DPS meter, threat etc.
